Medicaid Eligibility Coordinator

Friendship is looking for a Full-Time Medicaid Eligibility Coordinator to join our Friendship Health and Rehab - North team located in Roanoke, VA. The Medicaid Eligibility Coordinator is responsible for working with clients who qualify for long-term care Medicaid.

Pay Range:

• $15.00-$18.00 per hour

Shift:

• Monday - Friday, 8:00 am - 4:30 pm

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED required
• Minimum of six-months of Medicaid processing experience preferred

Roles & Responsibilities:

• Complete DMAS-225’s to local DSS on Medicaid recipients from Daily Census reports for: New Admissions, discharges to hospital, home and other facility, level changes and expired.
• Enter all pending Medicaid applicants and desk reviews to the Medicaid pending file
• Complete PIRS on all Medicaid residents
• Complete 15-page Medicaid application to DSS.  Copy verifications of resources and income during a 4-month period or more based on property transfer periods.
• Complete all annual reviews to DSS
• Mail Medicaid applications and reviews certified to DSS
• Complete DMAS – 225’s on map adjustments for dentures, eyeglasses, hearing-aides, increases in health insurances, change in pensions and “old” “unpaid” medical and pharmacy charges
• Discuss Medicaid w/authorized representatives and/or the patient in person and/or by telephone
• Contact DSS on closed Medicaid cases for the Business Office and any matters that pertain to Medicaid
• Meet with admissions when called upon to discuss Medicaid eligibility with family members
• Document manager set up
• Other duties and projects as assigned
