Member Advisors are Loan Officers at Blue Eagle!

Member Advisors serve as the Credit Union's primary front-line member service representatives and are responsible for creating an exceptional impression on all our members by offering solutions that help them see banking differently!

Key job functions include, but are not limited to:

  • Leading and growing the Credit Union through the addition of new members and the expansion of existing member relationships using probing and interviewing skills
  • Focusing on the growth of the Credit Union's loan portfolios (accept application, underwrite loan, decision loan, close loan)
  • Attaining sales goals
  • Professionally & timely responses to member inquiries by phone, email, chat, and/or in person
  • Accurately performing transactional and operational responsibilities by learning all aspects of branch and/or contact center operations; protecting against risk of loss
  • Becoming proficient in credit union regulations, policies, and procedures

The ‘must haves’ for this position include:

  • Excellent member service experience
  • High School diploma or GED equivalent required
  • Exposure to a sales and service environment that has sales goals
  • Engaging personality with strong communication skills with the ability to influence others
  • Experience utilizing Microsoft Office Suite or Google Applications
  • Ability to be registered in the Nationwide Multistate Licensing System and Registry (NMLS)
  • Preference will be given to applicants who have applicable experience in the credit union or banking industry


To name a few expectations, this person:

  • Becomes a lending expert including performing the entire consumer loan process and residential mortgage process from interview to close by accepting, analyzing, underwriting on loan applications up to individual lending authority.
  • Provides ongoing support to members via a needs based sales approach of the Credit Union's products and services.
  • Becomes a Credit Union ambassador and fluent in all branch operations.
  • Develops new business and maintains an active pipeline via outbound sales calls and business development initiatives to ensure individual and team sales goals are accomplished

This position requires candidate to work in office at any of our Roanoke locations.
