Take ownership. Lead with purpose. Design what’s next.

We’re looking for an experienced Architectural Project Manager who wants more than a title. We’re looking for someone who wants to take control of projects, lead teams, build strong client relationships, and deliver comprehensive, thoughtfully designed work.

At C&S, we believe great projects come from the combination of great design, strong project leadership, and great client experiences. Our teams are collaborative by nature, bringing together architects, interior designers, engineers, planners, and other specialists to solve problems and create better outcomes. We also believe the best teams make room for individual strengths and interests - and know how to put those talents to work for the project.

The Role

As an Architectural Project Manager, you’ll lead projects from programming and concept through documentation, construction, and closeout. You’ll be responsible for the big picture while staying engaged in the design and technical decisions that make a project successful.

You’ll:

  • Lead project teams and coordinate multidisciplinary consultants.
  • Manage project scope, budgets, schedules, resources, and quality.
  • Serve as a trusted, primary point of contact for clients.
  • Guide projects through design, documentation, bidding, and construction.
  • Protect design intent while balancing budget, schedule, constructability, and owner priorities.
  • Lead project planning, communication, and decision-making.
  • Review design and technical documentation for quality and completeness.
  • Participate in programming, feasibility studies, proposals, and business development.
  • Mentor and support architects and designers while helping build stronger project teams.

Most importantly, you’ll own the outcome. We want PMs who are comfortable making decisions, anticipating problems, bringing people together, and pushing a project forward.

What We’re Looking For

You’re an architect and project leader who combines design judgment with strong project management skills. You understand that a successful project is not simply one that gets built—it’s one that meets the client’s goals, performs technically, respects the design, and creates an experience people value.

You’ll bring:

  • Bachelor’s or professional degree in Architecture from an accredited program.
  • 8+ years of professional architectural experience.
  • Strong architectural design and project management experience.
  • Experience leading projects from concept through construction.
  • A comprehensive understanding of design and construction documentation.
  • Experience managing project budgets, schedules, teams, and consultants.
  • Strong knowledge of applicable building codes and regulations.
  • Strong communication and client relationship skills.
  • The ability to take ownership, make decisions, and lead collaboratively.
  • Revit proficiency preferred.
  • Professional architectural licensure preferred.
  • Experience in municipal, commercial, higher education, healthcare, or similar project types is a plus.

Why C&S?

We’re a multidisciplinary firm with the resources and capabilities to take on complex work, but we’re intentional about maintaining a collaborative environment where people know each other, ideas are heard, and individuals can make an impact.

You’ll have room to grow vertically through greater project complexity, leadership, and client responsibility—and horizontally by developing the interests and expertise that make you uniquely valuable.

If you’re ready to take ownership of meaningful projects, work alongside talented people, and help deliver architecture that is both high quality and highly valued by the people we serve, we’d like to meet you.

C&S supports a 60/40 hybrid work environment, providing flexibility while preserving the collaboration and connection that help design teams perform at their best.

This position is based in our Rochester office, but could also work from our Buffalo or Syracuse offices as well with the right fit.

Estimated Salary Range: $95,000–$125,000

*Actual compensation may vary based on related work experience, geographical location and market conditions, education/training, certifications, and other credentials, as well as applicable knowledge and skills.
