Wage Ranges: $20.00 - $22.00

Summary/Objective

Support to the Facility Manager and Facility leadership by performing preventive maintenance, grounds maintenance and other general repairs, both major and minor repairs, as directed. Will need to operate various motorized equipment in the process including but not limited to forklift, manlift, tractors and lawn mowers.

Essential Functions

  • • Provides preventative maintenance as instructed.
  • • Perform repairs on company machinery and equipment.
  • • Basic Vehicle Maintenance which can include repairs and troubleshooting. 
  • • Detect and report the need for major maintenance repairs.
  • • Repair minor to major plumbing, electrical, carpentry and safety systems.
  • • Provides general assistance to all areas where needed.
  • • Provides general maintenance of company grounds, including weed eating, mowing, and pressure washing.
  • • Performs daily operation of composter.
  • • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • • Operation of forklift, manlift, tractors and lawn mowers.

Work Environment

The work will primarily be subject to outside conditions to include but not limited to inclement weather, hot and cold conditions, working with loud equipment, wet conditions. 

Physical Demands

This job involves regular lifting 50 lbs. or less with occasional lifting of 75 lbs. Team lifting of 100 lbs. or more may be required on occasional basis.

The worker will be required to have a range of motion as follows:  

  • Often requires walking or moving to accomplish tasks.  
  • Often requires standing for sustained periods of time.  
  • Often requires pushing and pulling objects and equipment with upper extremities.
  • Occasionally requires stooping and reaching. 
  • Occasionally requires pulling using upper extremities to exert force in order to draw, drag, haul or tug objects in a sustained motion.  
  • Lifting is required on a regular basis.
  • Often requires feeling of products perceiving attributes of objects, such as size, shape, temperature or texture by touching with skin, particularly that of fingertips.  
  • Repetitive Motions are required which involve substantial movements of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers.    

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position. Monday through Friday weekends as needed

Expected Hours of Work: 40 hours a week mostly during daylight hours as directed by supervisor. Some on-call availability necessary. 

Travel

Some local travel may be required.

Required Education and Experience

  • A minimum of one (1) year of experience in maintenance/electrical environment required. Must have basic knowledge of electrical wiring and plumbing with general carpentry and repair skills and have a strong background in troubleshooting problems. 
  • High School diploma or equivalent qualification required
  • Current valid driver’s license

Preferred Education and Experience

  • 3 years experience in a similar role
  • Professional certificates/training or work experience with electrical, plumbing, carpentry, general repairs.
