Real Estate Paralegal We are a major full-service law firm with more than 120 attorneys seeking to expand our talented staff by adding a Real Estate Paralegal with 2-5 years of experience to support our practice in our Rochester, New York office.
This position offers the opportunity to work directly with attorneys and clients on a broad range of commercial and residential real estate matters, while also providing support in municipal, corporate, litigation, and estate planning matters in a collaborative environment.
The Ideal Candidate The ideal candidate is a motivated, detail-oriented self-starter with strong organizational skills and a solid foundation in real estate transactions. The candidate must be a team player who thrives in a professional and supportive law firm environment and is comfortable managing multiple matters simultaneously.
Responsibilities
- Assist attorneys with commercial and residential real estate transactions, including preparation of contracts of sale, closing documents, and related transaction materials.
- Review and analyze title reports and surveys and assist with title clearance issues.
- Prepare closing checklists and coordinate the collection, execution, and delivery of documents.
- Obtain payoff letters and assist with lien resolutions and post-closing matters.
- Prepare and file ACRIS transfer tax documents and related closing filings.
- Coordinate with clients, lenders, title companies, municipalities, and opposing counsel to ensure timely and accurate closings.
- Assist with drafting and preparing wills, estate planning documents, municipal resolutions and local laws, corporate filings, and litigation-related documents as needed.
- Support attorneys with Land Bank matters, small business and corporate transactions, and general legal administrative tasks.
- Maintain and organize case and transaction files and track critical deadlines.
Qualifications
- 2-5 years of experience as a Real Estate Paralegal, Legal Assistant, or similar legal support professional in a law firm environment.
- Experience supporting commercial and/or residential real estate transactions.
- Exposure to litigation, estate planning, municipal law, or corporate matters is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail and excellent time management skills.
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple matters in a deadline-driven environment.
- Professional communication skills and a collaborative, can-do attitude.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
Compensation & Benefits Salary range:Â $55,000 - $65,000, commensurate with experience. Comprehensive benefits package including paid time off, paid holidays, medical, dental, life insurance, 401(k), annual performance reviews, and discretionary bonus.
Location This position is based in Rochester, NY, with support provided to attorneys serving clients throughout the region.
