POSITION SUMMARY:
This position is responsible for the management of all warehouse operations, activities, and staff. This fast-paced, physically active, production-oriented department receives and stores inventory, picks orders, loads trucks, and maintains a safe, clean, and organized area.   Â

RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES/TASKS:
- Ensure a safe, well-run department.
- Serve as the main point of contact, support, leadership, performance management, and supervision for staff.
- Understand the responsibilities and job duties of all direct reports and have the willingness, knowledge, and ability to cover their shifts when needed.
- Receive and process beverage deliveries and supplier dunnage.
- Move product to restock while ensuring proper rotation and dates.
- Perform inventory controls and keep quality standards high for audits.
- Ensure warehouse is completely organized, stocked, and clean.
- Maintains an efficient environment with optimal space utilization.
- Ensure all staff are trained and have appropriate certification to use voice-controlled system and powered industrial equipment (walkie riders, forklifts, and/or electric pallet jacks) to safely build orders and loads for deliveries.
- Maintain cleanliness and upkeep of outside grounds.
- Report any discrepancies.
- Stage completed pallets in designated area.
- Responsible for meeting productivity requirements.
- Ensure preventative maintenance and cleanliness of warehouse vehicles and equipment.
- Accurately complete all internal control records, forms, and reports.
- Work with inventory specialist and accounting to rectify all supplier misshipments.
- Remain alert for employee morale problems and address complaints quickly and effectively within the scope of responsibility and company policy.
- Track staff productivity, monitor overall job performance, provide consistent feedback and coaching for ways to improve/grow, and complete annual performance reviews.
- Manage and promptly address employee performance issues and corrective actions by working in close coordination with the Human Resources Manager and VP/General Manager.
- Represent the company in a professional manner in all conditions and circumstances, both internal and external.
- Purchase and manage business supplies from wholesale club.
- Participate in recruiting, interviewing, and onboarding for department.
- Follow quality service standards and comply with procedures, rules and regulations.
- Ensure management coverage during all operating hours.
- Other duties as assigned.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
Minimum:Â High school degree or equivalent, at least one year of relevant warehouse experience, and a valid driver's license
Experience/Training: Ideal candidates will have a four-year degree in related field and at least five years of industry-related warehouse management experience. Current employees of Comer Distributing will be given priority. Â

OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
- Must be at least 18 years of age, possess a valid driver’s license, and have an acceptable driving record.
- A valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License is ideal, but not necessary.
- Must be able to successfully complete a drug screening and background check.
- Must have excellent work ethic and attention to detail.
- Must be able to work independently while maintaining a positive, team-player attitude.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, change-oriented environment.
- Must be able to frequently lift and move product weighing up to 170 lbs.
- Willingness to work outside maintaining our grounds, and in a multi-temperature warehouse environment – moving frequently between beer coolers and the warehouse.
- Must have an excellent work ethic and be willing to always represent Comer Distributing Company in a professional manner, both internally and externally.
- Must have the ability to provide outstanding leadership and willingness to conduct business and complete responsibilities in a manner that is a direct representation of upper management.
- Walkie rider, pallet jack, and forklift experience and certification.
- Familiarity with modern warehousing practices and methods.
- Willingness to work before, during, and after holidays.
- Reliable transportation to work.
