Expected pay for this position is $17.00 - $18.89/hour. Actual pay will be determined by experience, skills and internal equity. This is an Hourly position.

PRN AS NEEDED- VERY LIMITED BENEFITS

Variable shifts

Will  have to train on all three shifts, most heavily on 1^st & 2^nd.  MUST be willing to pick up 3^rd shifts.

POSITION SUMMARY: The telecommunications operator provides a positive first impression to callers and matches his/her request to available resources/services. Serves as a resource to internal/external callers regarding the physicians, mission partners, and services associated with this OSF facility and region. Responds in a calm, professional manner in handling patient/family concerns and effectively uses a variety of communication methods to respond to emergency situations.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:  Education – High School diploma or GED  Experience – Phone systems work or customer service, 1 year  Other skills or knowledge - Strong customer service and interpersonal communication skills, keyboarding, knowledge of phone systems and basic computer software applications.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:  Experience - Prior switchboard operator experience, especially in healthcare setting, 1-2 years.
