Job DetailsJob Location: Catawba Mill - Catawba, SC 29704Position Type: Full TimeEducation Level: High School Diploma or EquivalentTravel Percentage: NoneJob Category: ManufacturingJob Title: Power & Recovery Shift Supervisor Department: Pulp & Utilities Reports To: Superintendent Powerhouse   SUMMARY: Manage employees in the Power & Recovery areas to ensure safe and efficient manufacturing processes.   ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Manage hourly employees and Team Leaders to ensure accurate time & attendance, effective crew scheduling, efficient employee development, and compliance to all HR policies in a union environment. Ensure safety & environmental compliance for areas of responsibility through the use of: safety training, safety permitting, safety & environmental one-on-one meetings, and management of safety & environmental policies. Ensure product quality in areas of responsibility through use of ISO and quality targets. Ensure production targets are met by: leading process troubleshooting, ensuring adherence to SOPs & KPIs, and ensuring effective housekeeping. Improve equipment reliability by ensuring effective operator rounds, efficient management of maintenance resources, facilitating entry of work requests, and leading crews during equipment outages. Manage communication among employees, peers, and supervisors though the use of shift turnover meetings, expectation setting, regular feedback & coaching, incident investigations, and reporting of variances.   SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES Develop the hourly organization to ensure long and short term goals and objectives are met. QualificationsSKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS Four-year engineering degree or equivalent operational experience in a Power & Recovery environment. Solid understanding of the operation of an integrated pulp & paper mill. Demonstrated problem-solving and troubleshooting skills in a power & recovery environment. Ability to build and sustain trust and work collaboratively across functions. Demonstrated leadership and supervisory experience. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work a 12-hour rotating shift schedule. Ability to balance priorities to meet short and long-term goals. Efficient in use of Office productivity products and enterprise planning systems.
