Position Summary
    What You Will Do
    • Code Encounters: Code discharged inpatient encounters accurately.
    • Assign DRGs: Utilize the Clintegrity encoder for precise Diagnosis Related Group (DRG) assignment.
    • Collaborate: Work alongside Clinical Documentation Improvement (CDI) nurses.
    • Submit Queries: Clarify documentation with providers when needed.
    • Support Quality: Assist with DRG appeals and meet established productivity and quality standards.
    • Identify Trends: Help the Coding Manager spot workflow problems or emerging trends.
    • Stay Current: Maintain active coding knowledge, certifications, and expertise in Medicare rules.
      What You Need
      • Education: High School diploma required. Associate's or bachelor's degree preferred.
      • Certifications: Must hold at least one of the following credentials:
        • RHIA (Registered Health Information Administrator)
        • RHIT (Registered Health Information Technician)
        • CCS (Certified Coding Specialist)
        • CCA (Certified Coding Associate)
        • CPC (Certified Professional Coder)
      • Skills & Knowledge:
        • Strong critical thinking and analytical abilities.
        • Solid grasp of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology.
        • Proficiency in ICD-10-CM/PCS coding guidelines, CPT, and HCPCS.
