NorthPointe Clinic is seeking a compassionate, motivated, and skilled Occupational Therapist to join our outpatient rehabilitation team. In this role, you will evaluate, develop, and implement individualized treatment plans to help patients improve their functional abilities, independence, and quality of life. The ideal candidate is passionate about patient-centered care, collaborative treatment planning, and achieving positive outcomes across a diverse patient population.
- Evaluate patients' physical, cognitive, sensory, and psychosocial functioning.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on patient needs and goals.
- Provide therapeutic interventions to improve daily living skills, upper extremity function, coordination, strength, and cognitive performance.
- Educate patients, families, and caregivers on treatment plans, home exercise programs, and adaptive strategies.
- Recommend adaptive equipment, assistive devices, and environmental modifications to promote independence.
- Accurately document evaluations, treatment progress, goals, and discharge plans in the electronic medical record.
- Collaborate with physicians, physical therapists, speech therapists, and other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive patient care.
- Monitor patient progress and modify treatment plans as needed to achieve optimal outcomes.
- Maintain compliance with regulatory requirements, clinic policies, and professional standards of practice.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and professional development activities
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor or Master's in Occupational Therapy or Certificate degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited school, or higher degree equivalent.
- Satisfactory completion of a 6-9 month internship program in Occupational Therapy.
- Current Occupational Therapy License in Illinois
- CPR Certification within 3 months of hire.
- Ability to effectively communicate and interact with employees, patients, and family members in groups and on a one-to-one basis.
- Ability to problem solve and reason. Familiarity with a variety of equipment, including computer software.
- Organization, time management, flexibility, and positive attitude are crucial to successful performance.
