Job DetailsJob Location: Roswell, GA 30076Position Type: Central EMSJob Category: Dispatch / CommunicationsReports To: Vice President of Operations or other senior operations management.   Specific Duties: Directs and leads Dispatchers and Dispatch Call Takers in all Dispatch operations. Responsible for recruiting, hiring, onboarding and training all Dispatch Center staff. Responsible for directing, evaluating, coaching, training and disciplining all Dispatch Center staff. Functions as Dispatcher, Dispatch Call Taker and/or Dispatch Shift Supervisor when required, performs other duties related to emergency and non-emergency medical care and transportation as directed Ensures that Computer Aided Dispatch computer consoles, phone system, radio system and all equipment is ready for use at the beginning of each shift. Performs daily inspections of their work area and of the Dispatch Center for cleanliness and then performs the appropriate housekeeping duties to ensure their work area is clean, free from clutter and sanitary at all times. Maintains appropriate communications with company units, managers, support staff, receiving healthcare facilities and other agencies via radio, data link, pager or cell phone as required. Ensures that all Dispatch Center staff are knowledgeable as to local geography to include location of hospitals, public venues as well as local streets and highway systems. Responsible for developing and staffing Dispatch Center master schedule, including call in/fill in. Ensures all Dispatch Center staff that are assigned to shift report on properly groomed, in proper uniform and on time. Responsible for tracking, monitoring and submitting Dispatch Center staff payroll per company policy. Receives and resolves any Dispatch Center staff questions, concerns or issues regarding pay, benefits or other personnel issues. Ensures that Dispatch Center staff deploys, tracks and moves units on an ongoing basis throughout the day per local System Status Deployment and Posting Plan. Ensures that all Dispatch Center staff responds to all calls for service promptly and accurately answering incoming phone calls for service per Emergency Medical Dispatch and company procedure as required. Ensures that all Dispatch Center staff utilizes appropriate Emergency Medical Dispatch and company procedure to accurately determine the exact nature of each call giving pre arrival instructions to callers per appropriate emergency medical dispatch and company procedure. Ensures that all Dispatch Center staff obtain complete intake information from all callers and inputs information received into Computer Aided Dispatch system. Ensures that all Dispatch Center staff dispatches by radio, pager or MDT the most appropriate unit each request for service. Communicates and coordinates with Field Supervisors, Operations Managers and other management and support staff to ensure the proper number of fully equipped and staffed vehicles are available to fulfill local System Status Plan on a daily basis. Acts at all times in the best interests of high quality patient care, in the best interest of the patient,     and in such a manner to reflect credibly on the company and the professional reputation of the Dispatcher. Works with management team to resolve customer complaints and answer customers' questions regarding employee actions and company policies and procedures. Assists Quality Improvement and Billing support staff in evaluation, training and follow up with Dispatch Shift Supervisor’s, Dispatcher’s and Call Taker’s SOP compliance and documentation. Acts at all times with the safety of field crews he/she is dispatching in mind, as well as the safety of the patient, other EMS personnel, bystanders, and any other public safety personnel present at scene. Demonstrates complete knowledge, understanding and compliance of company policies and procedures. Accepts responsibility for recertification as an EMD and for other required license’s and certifications as required by company, local, regional, and state policies, regulations or laws. Ensures that all Dispatch Center staff maintain appropriate certification and licensure for their position. Demonstrates complete knowledge, understanding and compliance of company policies and procedures. Ensures the security of all company computer systems by adhering to security procedures and utilizing appropriate passwords policies. Ensures security of buildings, vehicles, equipment, supplies, systems and all other company property. Acts at all times with his/her personal safety in mind, as well as the safety of others. Maintains security and privacy of all company and patient information at all times in accordance HIPPA and all other local, state and federal regulations. Maintains security and privacy of all confidential and proprietary company information at all times in accordance with company policy. Reports to assigned shifts properly groomed and attired and on time unless the proper notification has been made. Remains on duty until properly relieved. At all times sets an example of professionalism and leadership for others to follow. Assures all company goals, objectives and procedures are followed on a daily basis. Performs other duties as directed by management.     QualificationsMinimum Requirements: High School Diploma Current EMD certification Current AHA Basic Life Support Certification Previous or current EMT Certification Solid Verbal & Written Communications Skills Minimum Two Years EMS Experience Proficient w/ Microsoft Office Software Package Zoll CAD System Training & Operating Experience Knowledge of System Status Management Including Demand Analysis and Deployment Planning Ability to Function as Leader Recruiting, Hiring, Evaluating, Coaching, Training, Disciplining and Directing Staff   Physical Requirements: The ability to reach, push and pull. The ability to sit for long periods of time. The ability to complete all job duties during any and all hours of the day and night. The ability to use phones and radios to communicate with callers, crews and other staff The ability use mouse or keyboard to input data into computer over long periods of time. The ability to view graphic and text data on multiple computer screens for long periods of times.
