About Company:

Carl Black Automotive Group has been in business for 34 years selling and servicing General Motors products.  We currently have 5 locations.  Our Georgia locations are in Kennesaw, Roswell and Hiram.  We also have locations in Nashville, TN and Orlando, FL.  This is a privately owned business.  

About the Role:

The Tag & Title Clerk for the Roswell Georgia location plays a critical role in the retail trade industry by ensuring that all vehicle documentation and identification processes are handled accurately and efficiently. This position is responsible for managing the preparation, processing, and filing of vehicle titles, tags, and related paperwork to comply with state and federal regulations. The role requires close collaboration with sales, finance, and regulatory departments to facilitate smooth vehicle transactions and ownership transfers. Attention to detail and organizational skills are paramount to prevent errors that could delay vehicle registration or sales completion. Ultimately, the Tag & Title Clerk ensures that all vehicles are properly documented, enabling customers to receive their titles and tags promptly and legally.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Basic knowledge of vehicle registration and title processes.
  • Proficiency in using computer systems and software for data entry and record keeping.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and professionally with customers and team members.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous experience as a Tag & Title Clerk or in a similar administrative role within the automotive or retail trade industry.
  • Familiarity with state-specific vehicle registration and titling regulations.
  • Experience using dealership management software or related databases.
  • Customer service experience in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and process vehicle titles, registrations, and tags in accordance with state and federal laws.
  • Verify accuracy of all vehicle documentation and ensure compliance with dealership and regulatory requirements.
  • Coordinate with sales and finance teams to obtain necessary paperwork and signatures for title processing.
  • Maintain organized records of all title and tag transactions, both physical and electronic.
  • Communicate with customers, government agencies, and internal departments to resolve any title or registration issues.
  • Monitor deadlines and follow up on pending title and tag applications to ensure timely completion.
  • Stay updated on changes in vehicle registration laws and dealership policies to maintain compliance.
