The Position

The Compounding Technician will report to the Compounding Supervisor and primarily help to prepare mixes of ingredients for production and blend them in accordance with SOPs/Batch Records for a variety of finished goods. The qualified candidate will work closely with the Compounding Supervisor to ensure production timelines are met.

Responsibilities and Duties as Compound Technician

  • Supporting accurate and efficient execution of Production orders, in accordance with BNR, BPR, and MMR, for SMART, compounding, and cannabinoid packaging
  • Verifying the environment, including utensils, is suitable for finished goods manufacturing before each manufacturing run
  • Ensuring documentation is completed in real time, following Good Documentation Practices, and submitted to Acumatica support staff
  • Performing routine cleaning and sanitation in support of production, and adhering to hygienic practices and cGMP in the production areas.
  • Helping to organize and control physical inventory of key materials
  • Supporting effective communication with relevant stakeholders regarding production consumption/production, contamination, personnel issues, opportunities for improvement
  • Collaborating with all relevant Departments
  • Basic troubleshooting of relevant equipment
  • Following company operating procedures and department protocols

Skills and Abilities

  • High degree of attention to detail and self-direction
  • High degree of mechanical aptitude
  • Able to manage time by balancing multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Able to work effectively and cooperatively with others
  • Able to meet production standards in a fast-paced work environment by performing tasks quickly and efficiently
  • Understanding of proper and safe handling of hazardous materials
  • Strong documentation and computer skills
  • Previous manufacturing experience preferred

Education and Experience:

  • High school or equivalent required
  • Previous experience in machine operation highly preferred
  • Previous experience in cGMP manufacturing environment preferred

Additional Requirements:

  • This is a full-time position based out of Roxboro, NC
  • Flexibility to work days/evenings/weekends depending on production schedules as required
  • Compensation commensurate with experience.

Physical Demands and Working Environment:

  • May be required to stand and/or walk for extended periods of time. Must be able to lift, carry and balance up to 50 pounds (100 pounds with assistance)
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to perform grasping, talking, hearing, seeing and repetitive motions.
  • Work with heavy fumes, plant extracts, airborne particles and chemicals
  • Must be comfortable working with and around heavy machinery
  • May experience moderately high noise levels
