Job Description

 

Job Title: Assembler                                                       Department: Final Assembly

Reports To: Manager, Project Coordination                 Location: Royston, GA (Home Office) 
 


Position Summary (major areas of contribution):

The Assembler is responsible for connecting simple parts into more complex components and completed units. This position works as part of a team to build, wire, inspect and prepare units while maintaining a high level of quality, efficiency and safety.

 

Essential Functions / Job Responsibilities:

  • Read and interpret instructions represented in manuals, blueprints, drawings, schematics and other technical documentation.
  • Assemble parts and components into completed or more complex units, ensuring proper fit, function and suitability for the final product.
  • Follow all established procedures, work instructions and safety requirements.
  • Gather and prepare all required materials, tools, and equipment before beginning assembly.
  • Take accurate measurements to ensure proper fit and alignment of components.
  • Select adjust, or modify components according to measurements and specifications and assembly requirements.
  • Inspect completed work to ensure it meets established quality standards and specifications.
  • Identify and report issues, malfunctions, defective parts, or other quality concerns to the appropriate personnel.
  • Maintain a clean, organized and safe work area.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.


Minimum Qualifications / Skills:

  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Effective time management and organizational skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, blueprints, and schematics.
  • Strong communication skills. 
  • Demonstrated problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities.
  • Ability to handle multiple projects while meeting tight deadlines.
  • Strong technical aptitude and mechanical ability.
  • Good manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.
  • Ability to work well within a team environment.

 

 Education / Experience:

  • High School diploma or GED required.
  • Prior experience working in a manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Prior experience as an assembler preferred.
  • Technical knowledge and ability to read blueprints, drawings, and other technical documentation preferred.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced, high output manufacturing environment preferred.


Requirements:

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee will go prolong periods standing or walking in assigned area, is occasionally required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; talk or hear. 
  • The employee must unaided lift up to 50 pounds without assistance.
  • Ability to work according to a schedule and meet attendance and productivity expectations.
