Responsibilities
- Greet customers warmly and listen attentively to understand their vehicle concerns and service needs
- Explain repair procedures clearly, providing detailed estimates using estimating software and automotive diagnostics tools
- Upsell additional services such as oil changes, tire rotations, brake repairs, alignments, suspension work, and transmission services to enhance vehicle performance
- Coordinate with technicians to prioritize repairs and ensure timely completion of services
- Maintain accurate service writing records and communicate effectively with clients about vehicle status and repair recommendations
- Handle cash transactions and process payments efficiently while maintaining integrity and accuracy
- Follow up with customers post-service to ensure satisfaction and foster long-term relationships
Requirements
- Proven experience as an automotive service advisor or in a similar auto service management role; Independent repair shop and or dealership experience is highly preferred
- Strong mechanical knowledge with familiarity in automotive diagnostics, diesel engine repair, air brake systems, shocks & struts, and other automotive repair specialties
- Proficiency with estimating software and computer-aided vehicle damage estimating tools
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly and professionally
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; driving experience is essential for test drives and vehicle inspections
- Knowledge of auto estimating, service writing, tire service, alignment, suspension work, brake repair, oil changes, and other maintenance services
- Ability to upsell effectively while maintaining honesty and transparency with clients
- Mechanical experience or background as a service technician is a plus for better understanding customer concerns
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in documentation and client communication
