He is looking for someone to assist him with his daily activities, engaging within the community, and promoting his independence. The ideal candidate is reliable, enthusiastic, playful, active, enjoys helping people, and has great communication skills. Goals include: • Safety awareness – navigating the community while providing protective oversight for safety. • Independent living skills – encouraging him to make independent choices, assisting him with meal preparation/household tasks (as needed), and communication. • Recreational activities – going for walks, kickball, art/cooking classes, and visiting places like the YMCA, parks, and the zoo Related experience working with individuals with disabilities is preferred but not required. Reliable transportation is required. Background check, fingerprinting, and DMV record check will be conducted prior to hiring. In addition to hourly compensation, employees of Advocates can qualify for comprehensive health, dental, and other benefits including paid time off. Mileage reimbursement available. Candidates must possess a keen sense of attention to detail, especially when electronically logging each day's time, mileage, and service documentation. Internet access and a valid email address are required. Available Shifts: Tuesday, Thursday, Friday (10am-5pm) Pay rate: $22.50 per hour while providing direct support. The indirect/training rate is $16 per hour.
