Emerald Technologies has an exciting opportunity for a Documentation Specialist to join its Saline Team! The Documentation Specialist is an in-office, on-site role responsible for translating customer specifications, Bills of Materials (BOMs), assembly drawings, and internal system data into clear, visual, step-by-step manufacturing work instructions for the production floor. Serving as a key link between engineering and operations, this role creates, maintains, and adapts assembly and box-build documentation while providing floor support as needed to drive efficient, zero-error production of printed circuit board assemblies (PCBAs).

 RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Independent Work Instruction Creation: Create clear, visual instructions for PCBA and box-build assemblies by editing CAD/Gerber data, incorporating assembly photos, and organizing instruction steps into easy-to-follow layouts.
  • As-Needed Floor Support: Visit the production floor as needed to take reference photos, document complex assemblies, and collaborate with operators when specialized documentation support is required.
  • Continuous Document Improvement: Maintain and refine work instructions based on operator feedback, production needs, and updated customer specifications.
  • Engineering & Process Change Management: Process Engineering Change Notices (ECNs) for updated customer requirements and Process Change Notifications (PCNs) driven by manufacturing engineering to improve production processes.
  • Advanced Data Entry & Setup (Experienced Level): Extract customer BOMs, routers, and component sensitivity data to create and upload manufacturing records into enterprise systems, supporting material procurement and production setup.
  • Adaptive Workflow & AI Integration: Adjust to changing priorities driven by component availability, production schedules, and customer demand. Leverage evolving software tools, AI, and automation to improve documentation efficiency and meet build timelines.

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent 
  • 1-2 years experience in a manufacturing environment preferred but not required
  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret a variety of engineering documents such as specifications, component data sheets, assembly drawings, ECO’s and PCR’s 
  • Familiar with electronic components 
  • Familiar with manufacturing documentation processes including BOM’s, AVL, Part numbering and MRP systems 
  • Familiarity with CAM preparation tools, visual work instruction software, and ERP/MRP systems, with an eagerness to learn new digital tools
  • Strong Communication Skills – including the ability to interact with engineering and other operations departments 
  • Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment
