Onsite – Salt Lake City, UTOur team is looking for an Engineering Lab Manager to join us. In this role, you will lead the Engineering Lab testing organization, oversee design verification and validation activities, and ensure compliance with applicable regulatory and quality standards. This position is responsible for managing laboratory personnel, supporting medical device product development programs, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality testing services that support product safety, reliability, and performance.

Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Science, or a related technical discipline
Minimum of seven (7) years of experience in medical device product development, testing, manufacturing, or a related engineering field
Proven leadership and project management experience in a technical environment
Extensive knowledge of medical device product development processes and applicable domestic and international standards
Strong understanding of engineering testing methodologies, verification and validation processes, and test method development
Experience developing and executing protocols related to product design and manufacturing processes
Ability to apply engineering principles and statistical analysis techniques to solve technical challenges
Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in cross-functional teams
Experience training, supervising, and developing technical staff
Ability to thrive in a highly regulated, compliance-driven environment while maintaining a customer-focused mindset
Ability to lift up to 25 pounds on a repeated basis
As an Engineering Lab Manager, you will:
Lead Engineering Lab Operations
Direct the daily activities of laboratory and testing personnel
Ensure laboratory operations meet standards for safety, data integrity, product reliability, and testing quality
Manage multiple projects simultaneously to meet demanding schedules and cost objectives
Oversee routine maintenance, calibration, and safety inspections of laboratory equipment
Maintain expertise in applicable testing standards, regulatory requirements, and industry practices
Support Product Development and Testing
Oversee the development and execution of test methods used to evaluate product performance, reliability, and safety
Develop and maintain verification and validation standards, procedures, and guidelines
Assist in the development of product performance specifications and testing requirements
Evaluate and improve product development procedures and standard operating practices
Prepare and review technical reports, recommendations, and conclusions based on testing results
Ensure testing activities support regulatory submissions, product development, and manufacturing objectives
Provide Cross-Functional Technical Leadership
Serve as a technical consultant to engineering and operational teams on design, testing, and verification activities
Support production and manufacturing teams in resolving technical issues
Collaborate with quality, marketing, operations, and customer teams to define and evaluate product requirements
Facilitate technical reviews, presentations, demonstrations, and planning sessions with internal and external stakeholders
Ensure effective communication and information flow across cross-functional teams
Partner with Operations to transition new products from development into production
Support business development activities by providing technical input for proposals and new opportunities
Develop People and Build Capability
Lead, coach, and develop laboratory and testing personnel
Conduct performance reviews and career development planning
Ensure employees are trained on applicable processes, procedures, and regulatory requirements
Foster a culture of continuous improvement and technical excellence

Salary Range Transparency:
Salt Lake City, UT $135,000.00–$175,000.00 AnnuallySalary Range Disclaimer
The base salary range represents the low and high end of the Moog salary range for this position in the given work location. Actual salaries will vary depending on factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance. The range(s) listed is just one component of Moog's total compensation package for employees.
