Our employee‑ownership model means everyone shares in the company’s success.  Position Summary  We are seeking a Sales Engineer to support our pre‑sales efforts by designing technical AV and low‑voltage solutions that meet customer needs and project requirements. This role partners closely with sales to translate requirements into clear, buildable designs and proposals.  Key Responsibilities  Support sales opportunities from initial discovery through contract award  Conduct site surveys, technical discovery meetings, and client consultations  Design AV and technology solutions for commercial, education (K‑12), and hospitality markets  Develop system designs, equipment lists (BOMs), scopes of work, and technical documentation  Participate in sales presentations, demos, and proposal reviews  Support RFP/RFQ responses with technical narratives and compliance input  Ensure designs are buildable, code‑compliant, and aligned with customer budgets  Participate in internal project handoff and closeout meetings  Stay current on AV technologies, standards, and industry trends  QualificationsRequired Qualifications  3 to7 years of experience in commercial AV design, engineering, or technical sales  Strong knowledge of AV systems (audio, video, control, conferencing, networking, infrastructure)  Ability to read architectural drawings and create system diagrams  Strong communication and customer facing skills  Ability to explain technical concepts to non technical audiences  Willingness to travel regularly to job sites and client locations  Preferred Qualifications  CTS, CTS D, or CTS I certification   Experience with platforms such as:  Crestron, Extron, Q-SYS   Microsoft Teams Rooms   AV networking technologies (Dante, AVoIP, General)   Experience in one or more of: hospitality, K to12 education, healthcare, or large commercial environments   Familiarity with Rauland nurse call/paging systems, Biamp Vocia, or Software House access control   Experience working within ERP, CRM, or project management platforms   Work Location and Travel  Location:   Salt Lake City, UT   This role requires regular travel to local and regional job sites and occasional travel to our other branches in Colorado, Utah and Idaho.   Physical Requirements & Work Environment  Ability to travel regularly to customer sites, job locations, and branch offices, including walking active construction sites and climbing stairs or ladders as required  Ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods during site visits, meetings, and presentations  Ability to lift and carry equipment, tools, or materials weighing up to 25 pounds on an occasional basis  Frequent use of a computer, phone, and other standard office equipment  Occasional work in noisy, dusty, or unfinished environments typical of construction and retrofit job sites  Primarily an office based role with regular fieldwork at customer and project locations  Benefits  Medical, Dental, and Vision Insurance  Health Savings Account  401(k) Retirement Plan  Paid Time Off (PTO) and Holidays  Employee Assistance Program (EAP)  Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP)
