Job DetailsLevel: ExperiencedJob Location: Admin/IDD - SAN ANGELO, TX 76901Position Type: Full TimeEducation Level: Graduate DegreeSalary Range: $5,019.00 - $5,244.00 Salary/monthJob Shift: DayAt MHMR Concho Valley, our mission is “Working together to help people help themselves.” If you are serious about making a difference, we guarantee you’ll love being a part of the MHMR Concho Valley.       The crisis intervention specialist (CIS) will work closely with intellectually and developmentally disabled individuals who also have a mental health diagnosis.  The position will provide information about IDD programs and services to: IDD individuals and their family/LAR and IDD providers in the local service area.  The specialist must be available to provide consultation to the mobile crisis outreach team (MCOT), as needed or clinically indicated.  The CIS will collaborate with MCOT to develop criteria for referring an individual to crisis respite.  The crisis intervention specialist will develop a crisis respite plan and provide education about the way to engage individuals with IDD and their unique needs (MCOT, law enforcement, etc.).  The position will collaborate with the individual’s team for support regarding relapse prevention and follow-up.  The specialist will assist with transition back home and will address concerns and issues identified during follow-up and monitoring visits.  The position will collaborate with appropriate LIDDA staff and the transition support team members to identify individuals with severe behavior disturbances that jeopardize their safe and current living arrangement and relapse prevention strategies.  Collaboration will occur with the individual’s service coordinator, other members of the planning team, family/LAR and residential provider (if applicable) to identify: prevention strategies to avoid potential crisis events and promote coping skills; training and support needs that provide the greatest chance of success for community living (scheduled respite services for planning crisis respite to avoid crisis events); supports the service coordinator’s on-going follow-up and monitoring of activities and assist the service coordinator, other team members and residential provider, if any, in addressing concerns and issues identified during follow-up and monitoring visits (law enforcement, ER visits or behavioral health hospital discharge).  The crisis intervention specialist will work closely with the crisis coordinator with monitoring the watch list of dually diagnosed individuals and assist, as needed.  Will have a center issued cell phone and rotate being on-call for crisis calls.  The specialist will complete mandatory on-line training from the department of aging and disability services.         EDUCATION, TRAINING, & EXPERIENCE A minimum of a master’s in psychology and/or social work. At least 2 years of experience working in the stated field with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities and mental and behavioral support needs.       ESSENTIAL TASKS Must have excellent verbal, interviewing and writing skills. Ability to learn and understand a variety of management information systems. Ability to develop plans to implement and monitor behavior management. Must have an extensive knowledge in crisis management and prevention. Ability to work as a team member in a diverse environment interfacing with both internal & external stakeholders. Demonstrate ability to work in a rapid paced environment in an organized and professional manner. Ability to self-monitor quality with minimal assistance. Ability to work in a production environment and meet or exceed established performance goals.       REQUIREMENTS Must meet one of three qualifications: licensed psychologist; licensed psychological associate; licensed clinical social worker; licensed professional counselor; board certified behavioral analyst; be an LMSW who is supervised in accordance with the rules of the social work licensing board; or be a licensure applicant with a temporary social work license as long as the applicant is fully within 6 months after hired and be supervised with the rules of the social work licensing board (supervision of an LMSW or licensure applicant with a temporary social work license required must be supervised by and LPC, licensed psychologist, licensed marriage and family therapist, licensed social worker or psychiatrist). Valid Texas Driver’s License required and reliable transportation. Must not have more than 3 moving violations in the last 3 years. Must be insurable and remain insurable on Center’s insurance.
