HHS is hiring a Maintenance Mechanic to join our Laundry Services team!
We’re looking for an experienced, dependable Maintenance Mechanic who can help keep our laundry facility and equipment operating safely and efficiently. This position is responsible for preventive maintenance, equipment repairs, troubleshooting, and general facility maintenance.
Pay: $18 an hour
Shift: 7:00am-3:30pm, Monday-Friday.
Responsibilities
- Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair commercial laundry equipment
- Perform preventive maintenance on equipment, lint traps, shaker screens, oil and grease systems, wastewater systems, and other facility equipment
- Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, air, and power systems
- Perform 3-phase 230-volt electrical work, plumbing, carpentry, welding, boiler repair, and general facility repairs
- Troubleshoot and maintain PLCs, electronic interfaces, computers, and electronic control boards
- Perform mechanical, electrical, and electronic diagnostics and advanced troubleshooting
- Respond to maintenance requests quickly to minimize equipment downtime
- Complete required equipment and building inspections
- Maintain accurate maintenance, inspection, and safety records
- Properly use power and hand tools
- Follow lockout/tagout, confined-space, PPE, OSHA, and other required safety procedures
- Assist with overall facility and property maintenance as needed
Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of maintenance engineering experience
- Experience working with machinery, electrical systems, electronics, plumbing, hydraulics, pneumatics, welding, and boiler applications
- Strong 3-phase 230-volt electrical troubleshooting skills
- PLC programming experience
- Proficient with power and hand tools
- Strong mechanical and troubleshooting abilities
- Excellent attendance and reliability
- Strong communication and time-management skills
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team
- Ability to support a 24/7 operation, including weekends, holidays, and evenings as needed
Physical Requirements
This is an active, hands-on maintenance position. Team members must be able to:
- Frequently lift up to 40 lbs.
- Stand, walk, bend, squat, twist, kneel, and reach throughout the shift
- Push and pull carts or equipment weighing more than 100 lbs.
- Safely work around laundry chemicals, including bleach and detergent
- Work in an industrial laundry environment
