About the Role:

The Specialty Pest Control Technician plays a critical role in protecting residential, commercial, and industrial properties from a wide range of pest infestations by applying specialized pest control techniques and treatments. This position requires thorough inspection, identification, and assessment of pest problems to develop and implement effective, safe, and environmentally responsible control strategies. The technician will work closely with clients to provide education on pest prevention and maintenance, ensuring long-term pest management solutions. Attention to detail and adherence to safety protocols are essential to minimize risks to people, property, and the environment. Ultimately, the role contributes to maintaining healthy, pest-free environments that enhance the quality of life and protect property value across diverse settings in the United States.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid pesticide applicator license or certification as required by the state of employment.
  • Experience in pest control or a related field, preferably with knowledge of specialty pest species.
  • Ability to safely handle and apply pesticides and other pest control products.
  • Strong communication skills to interact effectively with clients and team members.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Additional certifications in specialty pest control areas such as termite, bed bug, or wildlife management.
  • Experience using integrated pest management (IPM) techniques.
  • Familiarity with computerized pest control management systems and reporting software.
  • Physical ability to perform manual labor, including lifting, climbing, and working in confined spaces.
  • Customer service experience in a technical or field service environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct detailed inspections of properties to identify pest species, infestation levels, and potential entry points.
  • Develop and execute customized pest control treatment plans using chemical, biological, and mechanical methods.
  • Apply pesticides and other control agents safely and in compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Maintain accurate records of treatments, inspections, and client communications for regulatory compliance and service quality.
  • Educate clients on pest prevention techniques and recommend ongoing maintenance plans to prevent future infestations.
  • Operate and maintain pest control equipment and tools, ensuring they are in good working condition.
  • Respond promptly to emergency pest control requests and provide effective solutions under time-sensitive conditions.
  • Collaborate with team members and supervisors to stay updated on new pest control technologies and best practices.
