REQUIRED/PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS FOR OUR EMS INSTRUCTORS:
- California driver license (Required)
- BLS Provider (within 6 months)
- AHA Instructor (Preferred)
- EMT, Paramedic or Registered Nurse in California (Required)
- Approved EMS Instructor Certification (Preferred)
- Ability to work an 8-hour shift Monday-Friday (Required)
- High school diploma or equivalent (Required)
- 1 year in EMS or as an instructor in EMS field (Required)
- 2 years experience as a pre-hospital EMT, paramedic or Registered Nurse (Preferred)
- Acceptable driving record by Advantage’s insurance carrier (Required)
- CEVO/EVOC certification (Preferred)
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Developing and presenting EMS educational curriculum.
- Maintaining the training room.
- Ensure that all required forms and documents are completed in a timely manner.
- Have the required capability and training to fulfill their duties.
- Maintain all required training certificates.
- Coordinate safety activities in cooperation with Advantage Safety program requirements as set by the Director of Risk Management.
- Ensure that all training equipment is used with care and respect.
- Ensure effective quality control and that corrective action takes place to be certain that complete customer satisfaction is achieved.
- Prepare for and present courses being taught.
- For CE courses ensure that all necessary paperwork is completed, and CE certificates are given to students at the end of the class.
- Ensures that staff are scheduled and trained in accordance with company policies.
- Assist in the Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) process.
- Acts as the liaison between the Operations and Training Departments.
EMS INSTRUCTOR SKILLS:
- Proven work experience as an EMS Instructor
- Proficiency with computers including use of the internet, cloud based platforms and Microsoft Office Suite
- Professional attitude and appearance
- Solid written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to be resourceful and proactive when issues arise
- Excellent organizational skills
- Multitasking and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize daily changing tasks
- Customer service attitude
- Attention to detail
