Responsible for managing all vendor payments and payments received. Responsible for promoting efficient delivery of services. Responsible for maintaining high standards of professionalism, efficiency, personal communication, discretion, and independent judgment. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

 

Primary Functions:

 

  1. Receives and verifies expense reports; reconciles expense and other financial reports with account balances and other office records.
  2. Reviews purchase requisitions to ensure that budget codes are appropriate for the item(s) being purchased and follow financial accounting guides and policies.
  3. Ensure the necessary information is maintained to ascertain which vendors are subject to 1099 reporting and generating 1099 forms. 
  1. Facilitates payment of vendors, which may include verification of federal ID numbers, reviewing purchase orders, and resolving discrepancies.
  2. Ensures outstanding obligations are credited upon payment, identifies discount opportunities, and issues purchase order amendments or stop-payment orders as needed.
  3. Assists with accounting records and ledgers by reconciling monthly statements and transactions.
  4. Records entry of, verifies documentation for, and distributes petty cash.
  5. Calculates and reports sales tax based on paid invoices.
  6. Performs transaction processing related to accounts receivable payments, revenue collection, and bank deposits.
  7. Other duties as assigned.

 

 

 

Qualifications:

 

Minimum Qualifications:

 

  1. High School diploma or equivalent.
  2. Minimum 1 to 2 years Staff Accountant experience.

 

 Preferred:

  1. Experience serving a multinational, multicultural population.
  2. FQHC.
  1. Familiarity with Community Health Clinics and/or Indian Health Clinics.
  1. Business in Accounting degree preferred.
  2. Certified Accounts Payable Professional (CAPP) certification preferred.

 

  

Special Conditions of Employment:

 

  1. Has a clean driving record and insurance as required by the state.
  1. Has reliable transportation.

  • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Suite or related programs.
  • Ability to learn other accounting software systems.

 

 

   Physical and Mental Requirements:

 

  • Able to lift/move up to 10 pounds, move from place to place.
  • Able to sit at a desk and work on a computer for prolonged periods.
  • Able to stand, bend and reach for prolonged periods.
  • Ability to do math, organize and prioritize workload, work effectively and efficiently under stress.
  • Ability to supervise, multitask, understand, and follow instructions.
  • Ability to proficiently read, write, speak, and understand English.

  2. Participate in infection prevention through appropriate use of infection control measures during patient treatment and patient interactions.
  3. Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements for maintaining physical spaces, equipment, and supplies.  
  4. Uses all appropriate equipment and/or tools to ensure workplace safety. 
  5. Immediately reports unsafe working conditions.

  1. Maintains privacy and security of all patients, employee, and volunteer information and access to such information. Such information is accessed on a need-to-know basis for business purposes only. 
  2. Complies with all regulations regarding corporate integrity and security obligations. Reports on unethical, fraudulent, or unlawful behavior or activity.
  3. Upholds strict ethical standards.

  

 

   Flexibility:

 

  1. Available for all shifts and, when required, able to work evenings and weekends.
