Job Summary:
The Associate Director provides operational leadership and day-to-day management for the UC Health Data Warehouse (UCHDW), supporting the Director in executing strategies for clinical and research data architecture, management, harmonization, governance, and visualization. This role oversees a team of data professionals delivering Business Intelligence and Analytics (BIA) services and plays a key role in cross-system initiatives including evidence-based medicine, clinical practice improvement, quality reporting, and translational research. The Associate Director partners with stakeholders across the Health enterprise to ensure the UCHDW meets evolving operational, regulatory, and research needs. UCHDW is the major asset of the Center for Data-driven Insights and Innovation, a division of UC Health within the UC Office of the President.
The Associate Director must exercise the utmost discretion in managing sensitive information, including patient records, employee data, financial information, and strategic plans. This role requires strict adherence to all organizational policies and applicable laws governing data protection and privacy, including secure handling of physical and digital records and proper use of IT systems to prevent unauthorized disclosure.

The UCHDW also includes claims data from the UC self-funded health plans, as well as other data from external sources including Vizient. CDI2 collaborates closely with various teams and departments across UCOP and UC Health, including Executive Leadership, Clinical Affairs (including UC Population Health), Strategic Sourcing and Value-Based Initiatives (including UC Pharmacy), as well as with each health campus.
