In San Francisco, Homebridge provides nearly 1/2 million hours of in-home care to more than 1,000 complexly diagnosed IHSS Medi-Cal beneficiaries each year, with a staff of more than 400 caregivers.


Position Summary 

Homebridge is seeking a motivated System Administrator to help support its hybrid infrastructure environment, including on-premises systems and cloud-based platforms (notably Microsoft 365 and Azure). The ideal candidate will help ensure the stability, integrity, and efficient operation of the information systems that support core organizational functions.


This role will work closely with IT leadership and team members, including Support Specialists to maintain the organization's IT infrastructure with attention to cybersecurity, compliance (HIPAA/SOC 2), system automation, and end-user support.


Essential Job Functions

  • Support and maintain Windows-based servers, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy, filesystems, and related on-premise infrastructure.
  • Assist in managing Microsoft 365 and Azure AD, including Exchange Online, Teams, OneDrive, and SharePoint.
  • Monitor and patch systems in alignment with industry best practices and compliance requirements (e.g., HIPAA, SOC 2).
  • Support backup and disaster recovery processes.
  • Assist with endpoint management (MDM, antivirus, encryption, asset tracking).
  • Respond to support tickets and system alerts; perform basic troubleshooting and escalate as needed.
  • Assist in vendor and project coordination (e.g., firewall, VoIP, network upgrades).
  • Document systems, workflows, and changes.
  • Participate in internal audits, security reviews, and compliance assessments.


Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Working knowledge of Windows Server administration, Active Directory, and domain services.
  • Experience supporting Microsoft 365 and Entra ID.
  • Basic understanding of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, firewalls, VLANs).
  • Familiarity with backup/recovery processes.
  • Familiarity with IT security practices, including patch management and endpoint protection.
  • Exposure to environments with compliance mandates (HIPAA, SOC 2) is a plus.
  • Basic scripting and automation skills (e.g., PowerShell) preferred.
  • Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • Exposure to configuration management tools (e.g., Intune) is a plus.
  • Availability to work onsite 3 days per week.


Education and Experience 

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field preferred but not required.
  • 1–3 years of experience as a System Administrator, IT Support Specialist, or equivalent role.
  • Certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, Security+, or Microsoft Certified: Azure Fundamentals are a plus.


Work Environment 

This position is hybrid in nature and includes both office-based and field-based responsibilities. When in the office, the role is partially sedentary, typically involving desk work in a temperature-controlled environment within modular or individual office space. Moderate walking, lifting, and material handling are also frequently required, and the noise level is usually moderate.
