Job DetailsJob Location: San Leandro - San Leandro, CA 94577Salary Range: $30.00 - $35.00 HourlyJob description: Bay City Electric Works is looking for a Rental Driver/Technician who will be supporting BCEW’s Generator Power Rental market in the Bay Area / Sacramento Area. Offering quality brands like KOHLER/Rehlko® and Bobcat, the BCEW team provides new equipment, service, and rental power solutions for commercial, municipal, and residential customers that require emergency generator back-up power. The Role We are hiring a Driver & Rental Technician who is responsible for the day-to-day delivery and handling of our rental equipment. This role is perfect for someone who wants a mix of driving and hands-on duties. This position is split between three main areas: Maintaining rental equipment – maintaining fluid levels, tire pressure, trailer operations, general repairs and regular preventative and scheduled maintenance, inspect and roll returned cables to store neatly in equipment areas, clean equipment before and after rentals Driving/Equipment Delivery – delivery and pick up of equipment, unload or back units into limited access situations, load or hook up equipment for delivery, offload & load cables Customer Relations & Administration – Prepare all rental related paperwork, validate and maintain all safety data, maintain rental & cable inventories, instruct & train customers on how to operate units, provide after hours on-call support, as needed This position will work out of our San Leandro, CA location. Regular scheduled work hours will be Monday - Friday 7:30am - 4:30pm. The Driver/Rental Technician will be a part of our rotating on-call schedule, will receive On-Call Pay, and will be required to work occasional overtime. REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE: 2 - 5 years of Rental Equipment Industry and/or related technician/mechanic experience Experience with diesel and alternate fuel generators/engines preferred Valid California Class C Driver’s License with Hazmat Endorsement; Clean driving record & ability to pass DOT physical Willing to obtain a CDL Class A License within 1 year Experience towing trailers Forklift Certification High school diploma or general education degree (GED) Excellent employee and customer relations skills Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 50 pounds and frequently lift and/or move more than 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include Close vision, Distance vision, Peripheral vision, Depth perception and Ability to adjust focus. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and talk or hear. This position requires regular driving to job sites, the ability to move around uneven ground, climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl to assess job sites and equipment needs As a BCEW team member, you will enjoy a total compensation package that includes competitive pay and benefits: The pay range for this position is $30 - $35 per hour dependent upon experience.
