Qualifications

  • Previous residential HVAC installation or new construction experience required
  • Working knowledge of HVAC equipment, duct systems, refrigerant piping, ventilation, and controls.
  • Ability to read blueprints, construction plans, and installation specifications.
  • Understanding of residential construction processes and jobsite requirements.
  • Ability to use HVAC installation tools, power tools, ladders, and testing equipment safely.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently while maintaining production expectations.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
  • Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
  • EPA Section 608 certification preferred or required based on job responsibilities..

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to regularly lift and carry up to 50 pounds and occasionally heavier equipment with assistance.
  • Ability to climb ladders and work in attics, crawlspaces, mechanical rooms, and other confined areas.
  • Ability to bend, kneel, crouch, reach, climb, and stand for extended periods.
  • Ability to work in hot, cold, dusty, and changing construction environments.
  • Ability to safely operate hand tools, power tools, and HVAC equipment.

  • Quality and accuracy of HVAC installations
  • Completion of work within established production schedules
  • First-pass inspection and code compliance
  • Reduction of installation callbacks and warranty issues
  • Proper material usage and control of waste
  • Jobsite cleanliness and organization

  • Attendance, punctuality, and reliability
  • Effective communication with supervisors, builders, and other trades
  • Proper care of company vehicles, tools, and equipment

What Success Looks Like

A successful Residential New Construction HVAC Technician consistently completes quality installations on schedule, identifies potential problems before they create delays, works effectively with other trades, follows established installation standards, and leaves each project ready for the next phase of construction with minimal callbacks or rework.
