Job DetailsJob Location: Bermuda Palms - San Rafael, CA 94901Salary Range: $33.14 - $33.64 HourlyAt Episcopal Community Services (ECS), employees work with participants who may be experiencing homelessness, behavioral health conditions, substance use challenges, and other difficult life circumstances. While this work is meaningful and mission-driven, it can at times be stressful, demanding, or unpredictable. Employees are expected to exercise sound judgment, remain aware of their surroundings, follow established safety, communication, and de-escalation procedures, participate in all required training, and promptly report incidents, threats, injuries, or unsafe conditions, in accordance with ECS policies and procedures.    This position is a fully onsite, client-facing role that requires in-person interaction and direct service delivery to participants at ECS program locations. Due to the essential nature of the duties and the need for consistent in-person engagement with clients, remote work or work-from-home arrangements are not available for this position. POSITION SUMMARY Supervise Residential Services Coordinators in performance of all operational and participant services at the site. This role serves as decision maker for critical decisions relating to participants, staff, and the operation or Residential services. PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Supervision and Training Supervise Residential Services Coordinators providing guidance, training and support in accordance with policies and procedures of Episcopal Community Services, protocols of Union Collective Bargaining Agreement, and site policies and procedures. Conduct individual weekly supervision sessions with Residential Service Coordinators. Conduct daily ECS Shift Change Meetings, including instruction to Residential Services Coordinators, review of log entries, incident reports, and feedback from previous shift. Ensure equitable and appropriate enforcement of site rules. Review daily reports, and Incident Reports prior to submitting them to the Residential Services Manager. Ensure safe and healthful environment for all staff and participants. Ensure peaceful diffusion and employ de-escalation techniques in incidents involving violence or threats of violence. Mediate heated situations among participants and support staff following involvement in incidents. Notify Manager and HR of all threats of violence and conduct debrief meetings with all staff onsite after violent situations. Ensure staff are actively engaged with participants during shift. Provide information and referrals to participants about services provided at the site.   Safety and Security Oversee operations ensuring a safe environment for staff and participants. Ensure safety policies are consistently implemented and adhered to. Manage or assist with site-specific emergencies or crises. Carry out regular health and safety building inspections to ensure necessary repairs and maintenance tasks are reported.   Administration Notify Manager when office supplies, first aid and cleaning supplies, and participant forms are low. Make recommendations to improve policies and procedures. Handle call-offs ensuring coverage. Comply with the requirements of the confidentiality and participant record policies. Attend all meetings and training assigned. Perform all duties as assigned. REQUIREMENTS Must have experience working in a shelter environment, using participant-centered, harm reduction approaches. Must have supervisory experience. Excellent administrative and organizational skills are essential. Must be able to use Microsoft Outlook, and Word. Must foster teamwork. WORKING CONDITIONS Physical Requirements Ability to routinely walk through residential and office environments. Ability to navigate stairs, basements, rooftops, exterior areas, and other building environments as needed. Ability to sit, stand, walk, and use a computer for extended periods of time. Ability to occasionally lift, carry, push, or move light materials or equipment as necessary to perform job. Cognitive Requirements Ability to exercise sound judgment and make decisions in complex and sometimes high pressure-situations. Ability to communicate effectively with staff, residents, community partners, and leadership. Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise appropriate discretion. Ability to adapt to changing operational needs and unexpected situations.
