Salary Range: $75,000.00 – 95,000.00 DOE

Location: Valencia, CA.

Shift: 8:00AM - 4:30PM

Job Summary

The Human Resources Generalist will serve as a key partner to leadership and employees, providing comprehensive HR support across the full employee lifecycle — from recruitment and onboarding to employee relations, performance management, payroll & timekeeping and offboarding. This role will have a heavy emphasis on recruiting top talent for both hourly and salaried positions within a fast-paced manufacturing environment. The HR Generalist will ensure that HR practices align with company goals, values, and compliance standards while fostering a positive and productive workplace culture.


Key Responsibilities

Under general supervision, must be able to perform a variety of job duties including, but not limited to:

•    Manage recruiting, candidate screening, interviews, onboarding, and new hire orientation.

•    Serve as an HR resource to employees and supervisors regarding policies, procedures, benefits, employee relations, and workplace matters.

•    Support employee relations, including investigations, coaching, corrective actions, attendance issues, performance management, and documentation.

•    Maintain accurate employee records and HRIS data for new hires, terminations, transfers, promotions, compensation changes, and other personnel actions.

•    Support payroll and timekeeping processes, including timecards, attendance, sick time, and employee changes.

•    Administer and support benefits, leaves of absence, workers’ compensation, accommodations, and return-to-work processes.

•    Coordinate employee training and support performance reviews, employee development, merit increases, and compensation processes.

•    Manage employee separations, including resignations, terminations, exit interviews, documentation, and offboarding.

•    Support compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and company policies, and prepare HR reports, audits, and workforce metrics.

•    Support employee engagement, retention, multi-site HR needs, process improvements, and other HR-related projects.

Perform other duties as assigned.

 

Required Skills

•    Must have excellent written and verbal skills. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business information.  Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.  Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers.

•    Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. 

•    Ability to manage and solve problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized and complex situations.

•    Must have knowledge to apply complex use of databases/spreadsheets. 

•    Ability to complete the planning of workflow and meetings, including managing and prioritizing workflow. 

•    Must have solid analytical skills and solution-driven thinking. Able to use large amounts of data to make strategic decisions.

•    Ability to apply continuous improvement and lean principles to enhance efficiency and productivity. 

•    Experience with KPI tracking, performance metrics, and data analysis to support operational improvements.

•    Experience in recruiting, employee relations, performance management, benefits, leaves, and payroll support.

•    Must have proven success managing high-volume recruitment in a fast-paced environment. 

•    Proficiency with HRIS systems and reporting.

•    Must be proficient with Microsoft Suite. 

•    Ability to work independently, collaborate across teams, and support multiple locations.

•    Must have strong knowledge in California labor and employment law.

•    Experience with processing payroll, managing timekeeping systems, and reporting.

•    Must be able to properly document and maintain confidentiality with sensitive information. 


Preferred Skills

•    Experience supporting a manufacturing or production environment.

•    Experience with HRIS ADP Workforce Now preferred.

•    Experience supporting multiple locations and diverse employee populations.

•    HR certification such as PHR, SHRM-CP, or equivalent preferred.


Education Requirements

•    Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field, and three (3) to five (5) years of experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.


Physical Requirements

•    Ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods throughout the workday.

•    Ability to regularly use a computer, telephone, and other standard office equipment.

•    Ability to communicate effectively in person, by phone, and electronically.

•    Ability to occasionally lift and carry up to 20 pounds.

•    Ability to move throughout office and production areas as needed.

•    Must be able to work with their hands, arms and be extremely accurate. 


Working Conditions

•    Primarily works in a professional office environment with regular interaction in manufacturing and production areas.

•    May be exposed to noise, machinery, and other conditions typical of a manufacturing environment.

•    Must follow all required safety procedures and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) when entering designated areas.

•    Travel up to 25% between company locations or adjusted work hours to support business needs.
