This position supports volunteer recruitment, onboarding, training, scheduling, engagement, retention, recognition, and performance management while ensuring volunteers are effectively leveraged to support organizational and operational objectives. Key Responsibilities Volunteer Program Coordination - Coordinate day-to-day activities related to recruiting, onboarding, training, engaging, retaining, and recognizing volunteers in support of organizational objectives. Conduct volunteer interviews, screenings, orientations, and onboarding sessions. Ensure volunteers understand organizational policies, procedures, safety requirements, and expectations. Match volunteer skills, interests, and availability with organizational needs. Volunteer Operations Coordination - Recruit, train, schedule, and supervise volunteers supporting various areas of service. Collaborate with departmental leaders to identify operational functions that can be supported through volunteer engagement. Develop, implement, and oversee volunteer-supported operational programs that increase organizational capacity while maintaining quality and safety standards. Travel and Foster Volunteer Program - Serve as the primary operational liaison for volunteers supporting puppy transportation and travel programs. Recruit, onboard, train, and support volunteer transporters. Partner with other departments to ensure transportation needs are effectively met and supported. Volunteer Scheduling and Utilization - Maintain volunteer schedules and assignments - ensuring adequate volunteer coverage for daily operations, tours, events, transportation needs, and special projects. Volunteer Recognition and Retention - Create and implement volunteer recognition and appreciation programs, track volunteer milestones, conduct check-ins, and foster a positive and engaging volunteer culture that promotes long-term retention. Visitor Experience and Community Engagement - Ensure a welcoming and professional experience, coordinate volunteer-led campus tours and public engagement opportunities and support presentations and outreach activities. Program Administration and Reporting - maintain accurate records, monitor key program metrics, generate reports related to key metrics, and develop recommendations for continuous improvement. Organizational Collaboration -Work collaboratively across departments to identify opportunities for volunteer engagement and operational support. Qualifications To be successful in this role, candidates should possess the following: Must Have: Minimum of three years of progressively responsible experience in volunteer management, volunteer engagement, nonprofit programs, operations coordination, community outreach, or a related field Demonstrated ability to recruit, train, motivate, and engage volunteers. Strong leadership, organizational, and project management skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including public speaking and group facilitation. Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently in a dynamic environment. Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills. Ability to provide coaching, guidance, and constructive feedback. Strong customer service orientation and commitment to creating positive volunteer and visitor experiences. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint. Ability to learn and utilize volunteer management and organizational software systems. Ability to maintain confidential information with professionalism and discretion. Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills. Ability to work occasional evenings and weekends as needed. Ability to travel locally when necessary. Nice to Have: Bachelor's degree preferred. Driver's license and insurability and normal risk rates. Compensation Salary: $20 per hour Schedule: Full-Time, 40 hours per week.
