In this position, the employee will maintain accurate inventory and observations of broiler hatching eggs. The Poultry Production person will tray and set broiler hatching eggs for incubation, turning the eggs at regular intervals. The employee will transfer broiler hatching eggs between incubators and hatchers through an automated Embrex vaccination process. It is vital that the employee monitor the chicks’ environments, ensuring the temperature is adequate and there are no drafts that could lead to avian disease. The employee will be required to sex and sort broiler chicks. He will also be responsible for vaccinating. Our vaccination programs support the needs of our customers for high-quality broiler chicks of specific breeds with specific vaccination programs.

The employee must keep detailed vaccination records in alignment with the vaccination program. He will pull sick or lame chicks and alert Management of any signs of illness. The Poultry Production person will adhere to our processes to always ensure the fair and ethical treatment of the poultry and will follow all procedures outlined by the United States Department of Agriculture, the Food and Drug Administration, and all other Federal, State, and local government agencies. The employee will maintain all biosecurity measures in order to minimize the transfer of disease between poultry locations. This position is advanced in nature, as indicated by the above-detailed professional-level job duties.

Requirements

  • Ability to communicate in English (60%).
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize multiple tasks.
  • Mexican, Canadian, or U.S. citizen.
  • Professional License (CĂ©dula Profesional) in hand (Engineering related field).
  • University degree and academic transcript in hand (Engineering or related field).
