Job Description Summary

Lead high-level customer engagements with significant impact to the business, including proposal development, contract negotiation, commercial risk assessment, and compliance with contractual commitments. Owns commercial priorities with a high degree of autonomy and judgment, while driving successful outcomes across major projects and programs. A significant aspect of the role is managing the execution, workload, and financial performance of the business, including influencing prioritization of resources, commercial commitments and priorities, and financial outcomes. Operate with a high level of autonomy in establishing and executing commercial arrangements and requires strong commercial judgment to manage risk, customer relationships, and business results.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Develop proposals; negotiate with customers; ensure deals deliver shareholder value; drive competitive pricing. May include compiling and submitting required tender documentation.

  • Develop specialized knowledge of latest commercial developments in own area, and communication skills to influence others. Significant contributions towards product strategy and policy development, and ensure delivery within area of responsibility.

  • Has in-depth knowledge of best practices and how own area integrates with others; has working knowledge of competition and the factors that differentiate them in the market

  • Uses judgment to make decisions or solve highly complex tasks or problems within projects, product lines, markets, sales processes, campaigns or customers. Takes new perspective on existing solutions. Uses technical experience and expertise for data analysis to support recommendations. Uses multiple internal and limited external sources outside of own function to arrive at decisions.

  • Acts as a resource for colleagues with less experience. Lead small projects with moderate risks and resource requirements. Explains difficult or sensitive information; works to build consensus. Developing persuasion skills required to influence others on topics within field.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, or a related discipline, with a minimum of 8 years of cumulative relevant professional experience.

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in Marketing, Sales, Customer Service, Commercial Operations, or a related function supporting gas turbine, steam turbine, power plant, hydro, wind, or similar power generation products or services.

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in customer-facing commercial activities, including reviewing customer specifications and proposals, proposal/contract development, direct negotiations for equipment and/or services, and application of contract principles and commercial best practices.

For candidates applying to a U.S. based position, the pay range for this position is between $128,400.00 and $213,900.00. The Company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120% or 130% of salary in certain areas. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s experience, education, and skill set.

 

 

Bonus eligibility: sales incentive.
