Mfg Equipment Maintenance Technician

IMG Companies, a Division of Ichor Systems, is seeking a maintenance technician for the Larkin manufacturing facility in Scotts Valley, CA. This role supports upkeep and preventive maintenance of production equipment and facility assets in a machine shop and manufacturing environment. This entry-level role performs routine equipment care, basic maintenance activities for the facility, and provides horizontal band saw support. 

Responsibilities
 

• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized machine shop and production area, including floors, spills, trash, and recyclables.
• Follow all company safety, OSHA, PPE, and chemical-handling requirements.
• Perform routine CNC machine care, including chip removal, cleaning, coolant checks, and lubrication.
• Work from schedules, checklists, logs and established procedures.
• Maintain proper coolant concentration and replenish coolant, way lube, and other designated lubricants as required.
• Check coolant skimmers, compressor water separators, and other basic equipment-support systems; report issues as needed.
• Assist with preventive maintenance using established schedules, checklists, and procedures.
• Operate and support the horizontal band saw in accordance with safety and operating procedures.
• Identify and report equipment abnormalities, leaks, damage, or maintenance needs to the manufacturing manager.
• Assist with basic repairs and routine maintenance activities.
• Record maintenance activities, repair requests, and inventory information using basic computer systems.
   

 Required Skills and Abilities

• Basic mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn industrial maintenance.
• Experience operating a horizontal band saw.
• Basic understanding of shop and facilities maintenance tools.
• Ability to follow written procedures, work orders, and safety instructions.
• Basic computer skills and ability to accurately document work.
• Ability to safely use basic hand tools and maintenance equipment.
• Ability to work independently on routine tasks and recognize when issues require escalation.
• Practical approach to problem solving and identifying root causes.
• Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.

Education and Desired Experience

• High School Diploma or GED required
• Technical School or related experience in machine shop, automotive, machine maintenance , or manufacturing environment. 
• 1-2+ years of manufacturing or related experience.

Physical Requirements & Work Environment:

• Ability to sit, stand, walk, squat, twist, crouch, kneel, reach, push, pull, carry, climb ladders, and lift and/or move up to 50 pounds occasionally.
• Required use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Manufacturing setting with exposure to noise, coolant, dust, temperature variations, and moving machinery.

For candidates based in California: The pay range for this position is $18.70-29.09 per hour, non-exempt.

Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional job-related factors, including knowledge, skills, experience, tenure, and relevant education or training.
