Insurance Analyst I

JOB SUMMARY:

Process and service personal and /or commercial lines insurance business while maintaining accurate agency records and supporting daily agency operations. Provide professional service to clients and carriers, assist with administrative and processing functions, support agency goals, and serve as backup for front desk reception.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Follow Company and Agency guidelines when processing new business applications, renewals, and endorsements.
  2. Process direct bill payments accurately and submit payments to the appropriate insurance carrier.
  3. Review new business, renewal, and policy change transactions for accuracy and update the agency management system.
  4. Review reports to ensure the agency management system remains accurate and up to date.
  5. Greet clients and prospective clients professionally and direct them to the appropriate team member.
  6. Answer, respond to, and route incoming calls promptly and professionally.
  7. Monitor and follow up on outstanding correspondence, tasks, and pending items.
  8. Follow Agency Errors and Omissions (E&O) policies and procedures.
  9. Maintain organized and current electronic and/or paper files in accordance with Agency procedures.
  10. Assist team members and leadership with special projects, initiatives, and departmental requests.
  11. Participate in training and educational opportunities to enhance job knowledge and skills.
  12. Document and maintain client activities and related transactions in the agency management system.
  13. Communicate effectively within the department and contribute to a collaborative team environment.
  14. Ensure accurate data entry and compliance with established processing procedures.
  15. Leverage approved AI and automation tools to improve efficiency, assist with documentation, workflow management, data validation, correspondence drafts, and information organization while maintaining privacy and compliance standards.
  16. Identify opportunities to streamline processes, reduce manual tasks, and improve operational accuracy through automation and technology solutions.
  17. Perform other duties as assigned.

 

REQUIREMENTS:

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. Eligible to obtain and maintain required state insurance licenses.
  2. Related industry experience and insurance knowledge is preferred but not required.
  3. Self-motivated with strong verbal and written communication skills.
  4. Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and proofreading ability.
  5. Proficient in keyboarding, computer applications, and standard office software.
  6. Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with professionalism.

  

Physical Requirements:

Light Work - Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects. Duties may require reaching, grasping, repetitive motions, stooping, crouching, standing, walking, lifting, climbing, kneeling, talking, hearing, pulling, pushing, thinking, concentrating, and interacting with others.

Machines Used:

Computer, 10-key adding machine, fax machine, copier, telephone, calculator, scanner, and phone system.

 

Normal working days are Monday through Friday, with a standard 40-hour work week. However, work on Saturdays, Sundays, or holidays may be required as determined by your supervisor.
