GENERAL SUMMARY (Describe the overall duties and responsibilities of the job):


  1. Maintain and repair factory equipment and other industrial machinery

 

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (Duties required for successful job performance): 


  1. Read technical manuals to understand equipment and controls
  2. Disassemble and reassemble machinery and equipment when there is a problem
  3. Repair or replace broken or malfunctioning components
  4. Perform tests to make sure that the machine is running smoothly
  5. Adjust and calibrate equipment and machinery to optimal specifications

 


REQUIRED EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE (These are the traditional minimum, or required, bona-fide occupational qualifications and other requirements of most people in this job).


  1. High School Diploma plus equivalent experience, or 2 year associate’s degree in industrial maintenance or related field



REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES (Those needed to perform the essential functions of the job).


  1. Manual dexterity. When handling very small parts, workers must have a steady hand and good hand–eye coordination.
  2. Mechanical skills. Workers must be able to reassemble large, complex machines after finishing a repair.
  3. Troubleshooting skills. Industrial machinery mechanics and maintenance workers and millwrights must observe and properly diagnose and fix problems that a machine may be having.

  1. Responsible for personal and others' Health and Safety
  2. Machine downtime can cause missed shipments to customers

  1. This position reports to the Maintenance Supervisor.

 

 

WORKING CONDITIONS (Describe the environment within which the work is performed).


  • Plant floor.
  • Overtime of varying levels may be required with this position.     
  • Periodic travel may be required to help with issues at other locations.
