Medical/Surgical Unit-M2-Neuro Care

The Neuro Unit is a 28‑bed, all–private room inpatient unit that provides care for a higher‑acuity medical population with a primary focus on neurological conditions. Staffing structure and ratios are similar to the orthopedic unit, while patient acuity and clinical complexity are more advanced.
The unit primarily serves medical neuro patients, including individuals with acute stroke, a wide range of neurological diagnoses, behavioral or confused presentations, and patients experiencing alcohol withdrawal (ETOH). The majority of admissions arrive through the Emergency Department, creating a fast‑paced environment with frequent new admissions and evolving care needs.
The M2 Neuro Unit offers a broad and varied patient experience, making it an excellent setting for clinicians seeking to strengthen assessment skills, manage complex medical conditions, and gain exposure to acute neurological care. Unit leadership identifies this as a strong developmental unit for future Emergency Department nurses as well as candidates interested in building wide‑ranging medical experience in a higher‑acuity setting.
This position is a full-time Day shift working with 3-12 hour shifts from 6:00 AM–6:30 PM.
We offer self-scheduling for shift and weekend coverage. Scheduled workdays may vary, as there are no set or fixed days. Weekend and Holiday Rotations are required in this role. Weekend shift differentials are offered, along with evening and night shift differentials where applicable.
