SUPERVISOR: Miko’s Manager                                                                   EXEMPT (Y/N):  No

CLASSIFICATION: Key Employee

 

SUMMARY:

 Miko’s Supervisor will be responsible for the daily operations of Miko’s Gaming in the absence of Miko’s Manager.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following (other duties may be assigned):


  • Promotes positive guest relations, greets guests and creates a friendly atmosphere.
  • Observes and recognizes irregularities, violations, or other discrepancies in casino personnel or guests and institutes appropriate action.
  • Applies fair and consistent supervision and disciplinary practices.
  • Plans and administers work schedules and assignments.
  • Will assist with orientation, training and coaching of staff.
  • Ensures tidiness and cleanliness of gaming and other responsible areas of the casino.
  • Monitors the performance of direct reports, ensuring adherence to all casino policies and procedures.
  • Ensures that team members work with Security personnel and other Casino staff as necessary.
  • Ensures compliance with all Gaming Commission Regulations.
  • Assists in the coordination of and preparation of special gaming machines functions.
  • Prepares shift reports.
  • Attend mandatory meetings as scheduled, and occasional meet with Gaming Authority Board.
  • Oversees the supervision of personnel, which includes work allocation, training and problem resolution; evaluates performance and makes recommendations for personnel actions, motivates employees to achieve peak productivity and performance.  
  • Assigns daily duties and monitors expected results.
  • Authorizes jackpots according to approved policies and completes required forms if necessary.
  • Ensures compliance with guest service policies.
  • Ensures all evaluations for assigned team members are completed on time.

  • Is responsible for accuracy and timeliness of all required departmental reports.

  • Is responsible for managing and assisting in maintaining proper coverage of the casino floor.

  • On-call for alarms, employees or disputes as needed.
  • Maintains confidentiality of all privileged information.

  • Performs other duties as assigned by management.

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or G.E.D. 
  • One year or more related management experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum 6 months experience in a Gaming Machines or Slot department.
  • Minimum 3 months experience in a lead or dual-rate role.
  • Must be able to communicate in English.
  • Tribal preference.

TRIBAL PREFERENCE POLICY:

Members of the Jena Band of Choctaw Tribe shall be given absolute preference with respect to hiring, promotions, training, contracting, and separation from employment.  For persons who meet the minimum qualifications, preferential treatment shall be based on the following criteria and shall be given in the following order:

  • Enrolled members of the Jena Band of Choctaw tribe who satisfy the minimum job qualifications
  • Spouses of enrolled members of the Jena Band of Choctaw who satisfy the minimum job qualifications
  • Enrolled members of other recognized tribes who satisfy the minimum job qualifications
  • Military Veterans
  • All others who satisfy the minimum job qualifications

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly is required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear.
  • The employee frequently is required to stand; and walk.
  • The employee occasionally is required to climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds or more.



WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • Must be able to work in a smoke filled environment.
  • Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods of time.
  • Must be able to perform duties in kneeling position.
  • Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 lbs.

I understand by accepting this position with Miko’s/Jena Choctaw Pines Casino I attest that I have read and understand the job description and can perform the essential functions for the job for which I am applying.  I understand that I may be scheduled to work any shift, due to the business being open 24/7, 365 days a year.  I understand that the casino is open and operating on all holidays.  I understand that I am expected to work the schedule that is assigned to me weekly or monthly, accepting any changes that are made by my supervisor(s). I understand that I am expected to be on time for any and all shifts, due to the fact I may need to relieve a co-workers and that there may be scheduled events for our guests. I understand as stated in our handbook, penalty points will be charged and accumulated for all absences. I have been made aware that we have a section in our handbook on rules of conduct, which I, as an employee, am required to adhere to.  I have read this statement and agree.
