Lead from the front.

BONNEY WATSON is looking for an experienced sales leader to help lead and develop our Family Service Director team at Washington Memorial Park.

We're not looking for someone to simply supervise from an office.

We're looking for a player-coach—someone who can develop salespeople, hold a team accountable, step into a challenging family situation, help close an opportunity, work through the details, and take charge when leadership is needed.

This person will work closely with our Director of Sales & Marketing and have meaningful influence over the day-to-day performance and continued development of our sales organization.

You'll also continue working directly with families and earning commission on your own production, with reduced personal production expectations to allow time to lead the team.

What You'll Own

You'll help drive the day-to-day execution of the sales team, including:

Coaching and developing Family Service Directors

Reviewing pipelines, opportunities and follow-up

Reinforcing our sales process and expectations

Helping FSDs improve tours, presentations and closing

Leading sales huddles, roleplay and skill development

Observing appointments and providing practical coaching

Supporting challenging family situations and sales opportunities

Identifying performance gaps and helping create improvement plans

Assisting with interviewing, onboarding and training new FSDs

Reinforcing accuracy with contracts, forms and cemetery processes

Maintaining personal production while helping improve overall team production

This is a role for someone who enjoys building people and producing results.

Who We're Looking For

Previous management or direct supervisory experience is required.

Funeral, cemetery or death-care experience is strongly preferred. Experience with cemetery property, pre-need arrangements, memorialization, contracts, interment paperwork, authority/signature requirements or related forms would be a major advantage.

However, industry experience is not an absolute requirement.

We will consider an exceptional sales leader from another relationship-driven sales environment who has the leadership ability, sales experience and curiosity to learn our business quickly.

You should be:

A proven sales leader who can still personally sell

Comfortable taking charge

High-energy and engaged with your team

Confident coaching different personalities

Comfortable having difficult conversations when needed

Organized and strong with follow-through

Tech-savvy and comfortable learning CRM and other systems

Comfortable working with detailed contracts and processes

Able to use numbers to coach performance

Compassionate with families while still confident asking for the business

Willing to roll up your sleeves and get involved

If you're looking for a management title and a desk, this probably isn't the right opportunity.

If you enjoy leading from the front, developing people and being accountable for results, it may be.

Compensation & Opportunity

This is a performance-driven role with multiple ways to earn.

Compensation includes:

Hourly base pay + commission on personal production + additional compensation tied to overall team production.

BONNEY WATSON's FSD compensation model includes commissions across qualifying pre-need and at-need cemetery property, merchandise and other production categories. The current structure includes commission rates such as 15% on PN cremation property, 10% on PN non-cremation property, 15% on AN cremation property and 6–8% on AN non-cremation property.

Successful FSDs have the ability to earn $100,000+ annually, and this position adds additional earning potential based on the performance of the team.

The Lead FSD will also carry a reduced personal production expectation to allow appropriate time for coaching, leadership and team development.

Why BONNEY WATSON?

We've been serving Seattle-area families since 1868.

But we're not interested in simply doing things the way they've always been done.

We're continuing to strengthen our sales organization, develop our people, improve our systems and create a more consistent experience for the families we serve.

This position will have the opportunity to help shape that next chapter.

If you're an experienced leader who can sell, coach, take ownership and make the people around you better, we'd like to meet you.
