As part of a hardworking team of specialists, technicians, and engineers, you willĀ be responsible forĀ Additive Manufacturing machine set up, operation, monitoring and build to build change over as well as some preventive maintenance. These machineāsĀ and processing equipment support Blue Originās various spaceflight systems. You willĀ monitorĀ and record operational information such as functional issues related to laser melt pool, material consumption rates, material inventory, build startsĀ and completion dates. You will share in the teamās impact on all aspects of Additive Manufactured spaceflight and supporting hardware, continuous improvement, automation, and process development.āÆĀ
The Additive Manufacturing (AM) Engineering Technician position is very hands-on, offers critical insight into the daily AM machine/equipment functions that may not be well-understood by AM Programmers, AM Applications, and/or the management team.Ā

Key ResponsibilitiesāÆĀ
Operate machinery in a safe manner, including PIT equipment, overhead cranes,Ā printersĀ and sieves that support different alloys.Ā
Firm understanding of work instructions and applying proper documentation to each work order.Ā
Review and understand control media as it applies to work ordersĀ and be able to reference them for documentation purposes throughout the shift.Ā Ā
Interface with a variety of stakeholders from within Additive including; programmers,Ā productionĀ control,Ā machinistĀ and technicians across multiple work centers.Ā
This position has a high degree of necessary physical mobility. Including climbing stairs,Ā laddersĀ and other lift devices. Position requiresĀ long periodsĀ of standing and covering long distances between work centers.Ā
Maintain a healthy,Ā cleanĀ and organized work area.Ā
Support department initiatives on safety, 5S, continuous improvement and FOD control.Ā
Wear PAPR and PPE while on shift.Ā
Handle and process hazmat originating from 3D printers. Restock and apply passivation material at various collectionĀ and refill sites inĀ theĀ facility.Ā
Handle and process raw materials used to feed 3D printers,Ā logging transactions while on shift.Ā
Handle and process printed parts with various lifting assists on a multitude of 3D printers.Ā
Logging andĀ maintainingĀ data while on production floor through mobileĀ work stationsĀ and tablets. Deep understanding of Microsoft Windows and iOS devicesĀ isĀ required.Ā
Minimum QualificationsāÆĀ
Experience in aerospace manufacturing,āÆMetallic Additive Manufacturing production experience, or related technical field (0-3 years Level I Technician, 3+ Level II Technician, 5+ Level III Technician, 8+ Sr Level Technician)āÆāÆĀ
Proven your ability toĀ operate/work with complex processes and equipment including but limited to precision medical equipment, RoboticsĀ equipmentĀ and/or Metallic Additive Manufacturing (AM) machines.Ā
Ability to work with complex software interfaces to ensure the highest fidelity information for our internal and external customers.Ā
An attitude that insists on the highest standards: quality, attention-to-detail, and dedication to the rigors necessary to pursue of human-space-flight goals.Ā
Ability to show technical process thinking, an eye for process improvement andĀ demonstratedĀ ability to adhere to schedule constraints.Ā
