Job Description: As a Electrical Construction Manager, you will be responsible for managing field construction activities for electrical systems and ensuring work is completed accurately, on time, within budget, and within the scope of the contract. You will oversee compliance with construction documents, applicable codes, safety standards, quality requirements, and project schedules. You will coordinate contractors, designers, and project stakeholders to resolve field issues, track progress, support testing and commissioning, and ensure successful project closeout.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyze project schedules and proactively address potential impacts to electrical construction activities. Review daily work plans and support monthly schedule updates based on field progress.

  • Manage risks and establish recovery plans when required. Resolve field conflicts and disputes with minimal need for escalation.

  • Review electrical plans, specifications, contract requirements, applicable codes, and installation details to determine project requirements.

  • Oversee installation of power distribution, lighting, grounding, emergency power, fire alarm, low-voltage, controls, and related electrical systems for compliance with contract documents and accepted installation practices.

  • Coordinate electrical work with mechanical, architectural, structural, civil, and other trades to identify and resolve clashes, access constraints, shutdown needs, and sequencing issues.

  • Review shop drawings, submittals, RFIs, change documentation, and field conditions; participate in constructability reviews and coordination meetings.

  • Work with safety personnel to ensure electrical field activities meet project and regulatory safety requirements, including energized work and lockout/tagout requirements when applicable.

  • Support inspections, energization, startup, testing, commissioning, punch-list completion, and turnover of electrical systems.

  • Ensure timely completion of required project closeout documents, including record documentation, O&M information, warranties, test reports, and commissioning records as applicable.

  • During the Construction Phase, proactively manage quality, schedule, budget, safety, and document control while tracking and reporting project performance

Qualifications:

Basic Requirements:

  • Degree in construction management, electrical engineering, engineering technology, or a related field; equivalent practical experience may be considered.

  • 7-10 years of relevant construction management experience with significant electrical construction experience.

  • Demonstrated experience coordinating electrical contractors and field installation activities.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Associate's Degree or Bachelor's Degree a plus.

  • Experience with power distribution, lighting, grounding, emergency power, fire alarm, low-voltage systems, testing, and commissioning.

  • Working knowledge of applicable electrical codes and standards.

  • Proven ability to follow through with completion.
