If you are an Inside Sales Engineer professional looking for an opportunity to grow your career, Emerson has an exciting opportunity for you in Shakopee, Minnesota. In this role, you will combine technical expertise, customer engagement, and commercial awareness to help customers identify the right solutions for their applications. Working closely with customers, field sales teams, and internal partners, you will provide application support, guide product selection, develop solutions, and contribute to a positive customer experience that supports both customer success and business growth. As Emerson continues to invest in digital tools and automation, this role will increasingly focus on delivering technical expertise, consultative support, and customer engagement while leveraging technology to streamline transactional activities. 

 

In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:

  • Engage with customers, field sales, and service teams to understand application requirements, business objectives, and customer needs. 
  • Provide technical application support and product expertise to help customers select, size, configure, and implement solutions aligned with their operational goals. 
  • Support an increasingly automated quote-to-order process by reviewing complex opportunities, validating technical accuracy, resolving non-standard requirements, and guiding customers through order fulfillment. 
  • Manage opportunity progression through customer follow-up, purchase order review, and coordination with internal stakeholders to ensure successful outcomes.  
  • Build trusted customer relationships through responsive communication and a commitment to delivering an exceptional customer experience. 
  • Utilize digital sales, quoting, and customer support tools to streamline processes, improve productivity, and enhance customer engagement. 
  • Apply technical judgment to resolve customer inquiries, clarify requirements, and provide solutions for complex applications and opportunities. 
  • Identify opportunities to expand customer engagement by recommending additional products, services, or solutions while continuously building knowledge of Emerson technologies, applications, and industries.

For This Role, You Will Need:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering
  • Zero (0) to Two (2) or more years related experience – previous experience will be considered for potential higher-level initial role placement
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States - Sponsorship will not be provided for this role

 

Preferred Qualifications That Set You Apart:

  • Experience in customer service, inside sales, technical sales, applications engineering, or customer-facing support roles. 
  • Experience working with sales, service, or operations teams in a collaborative environment. 
  • Knowledge of industrial automation, instrumentation, measurement technologies, or related industries.

Our compensation philosophy is simple: we pay a competitive base salary, within the local market in which we operate, and reward performance during our annual merit review process. The salary range for this role is $74,000-$95,000 annually, commensurate with the skills, talent, capabilities, and experience each candidate brings to a role.
