About the Role
Blue Harbor Resort is seeking a full-time Banquet Cook to join our culinary team. This position is ideal for someone who is dependable, organized, and passionate about preparing high-quality food in a fast-paced banquet and event environment.
In this role, you’ll be responsible for preparing and executing food for weddings, meetings, conferences, group events, and other banquet functions. Banquet Cooks play an important role in ensuring food is prepared consistently, efficiently, and according to established recipes, presentation standards, and event timelines.

What You’ll Do
- Prepare and cook food for banquet events according to recipes, production sheets, portion standards, and quality expectations
- Complete food preparation and production in accordance with banquet event orders and established timelines
- Prepare proteins, vegetables, starches, sauces, soups, appetizers, desserts, and other banquet menu items as assigned
- Assist with high-volume food production while maintaining consistency, quality, and proper presentation
- Maintain proper mise en place and ensure all assigned stations are fully prepared for service
- Work closely with banquet chefs and kitchen leadership to ensure food is ready for service at the scheduled time
- Follow recipes, standardized procedures, and plating or presentation specifications
- Properly label, date, store, and rotate food products using FIFO practices
- Monitor food temperatures and follow proper food handling, storage, and sanitation procedures
- Operate and maintain kitchen equipment safely and efficiently
- Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary workstation throughout preparation and service
- Assist with setting up, replenishing, and maintaining banquet food stations and buffet service as needed
- Work collaboratively with banquet service, culinary, and stewarding teams to ensure smooth event execution
- Assist with breakdown, storage, and proper handling of leftover food following established procedures
- Assist with garbage removal and sanitation procedures in compliance with health regulations
- Maintain awareness of event timing and adjust production as needed to meet service requirements
- Follow all company policies, including uniform and appearance standards
- Adapt to different stations and responsibilities as needed to support banquet operations
- Complete additional duties as assigned by kitchen leadership
What We’re Looking For
- Previous cooking or food preparation experience preferred
- Previous banquet, catering, hotel, or high-volume kitchen experience is a plus
- Strong teamwork and communication skills
- Ability to follow recipes, production sheets, and instructions accurately
- Ability to work efficiently while maintaining quality and attention to detail
- Dependable attendance and reliability
- Ability to prioritize tasks and work effectively under time-sensitive conditions
- Basic understanding of food safety, sanitation, and proper food handling practices
- Ability to work flexible schedules, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and event-driven hours
- High School diploma or equivalent preferred
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs
- Stand and walk for extended periods of time
- Perform repetitive motions including bending, reaching, lifting, pushing, and pulling
- Ability to work in a hot, fast-paced kitchen environment
- Ability to safely operate commercial kitchen equipment
- Ability to work in a physically demanding, high-volume environment for extended periods
