Forklift Operator

Location: Shelbyville, KY
Project Duration: 10 weeks / 2.5 months
Pay Rate: $27/hour (based on experience)
Schedule: 40 Hours per Week

Skillforce is currently hiring an experienced Forklift Operator for a shop job in Shelbyville, KY. The ideal candidate will have previous forklift experience, be comfortable working in a shop or industrial environment, and have a strong focus on safety and productivity.

Key Responsibilities

• Safely operate forklifts and other material-handling equipment
• Load, unload, move, and stage materials throughout the shop and work areas
• Transport structural steel, materials, and equipment as needed
• Safely position and organize materials for production and fabrication
• Inspect forklift and equipment before use and report any maintenance or safety concerns
• Follow all safety procedures and company guidelines
• Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment
• Assist shop personnel with material handling and production needs
• Work effectively with team members to meet production schedules and project deadlines

Requirements

• Previous forklift operating experience in a shop, warehouse, or industrial environment
• Ability to safely operate a forklift while handling heavy materials
• Experience moving and staging steel or other large materials is preferred
• Ability to follow directions and safety procedures
• Strong attention to detail and situational awareness
• Ability to work overtime as needed and maintain reliable attendance
• Must pass all pre-employment screenings, including drug testing and background check
• Reliable transportation
• Strong work ethic and commitment to workplace safety
