Our Practice

Dermatology Physicians is a privately-owned dermatology practice with 9 locations. We are currently looking to expand our staff with a full-time certified medical assistant/scribe to add to our surgical team. As a fast growing practice we also offer growth opportunities within the practice. We pride ourselves in putting our patients first and we are committed to providing top medical care for all of our patients. This position would require working in a few of our locations where we provide surgical treatments. The current locations are Norwalk, Shelton, Hamden, Branford.

What You’ll Do

As a Mohs Surgical Assistant, you’ll support the surgical team by ensuring accurate documentation, safe room flow, and a high standard of patient-centered care during Mohs procedures. This entry-level, full-time onsite role is ideal for candidates building clinical hours toward pre-med or PA pathways.

Key responsibilities include assisting the physician during Mohs surgery, maintaining precise real-time scribing, preparing and turning over procedure rooms, and supporting clinic documentation standards.

Required qualifications/skills:
- Prior experience in a medical setting
- Dermatology knowledge/experience
- EMA background
- Strong sterile and clean technique

A Typical Clinic Day

Your day is structured around a weekday surgical schedule, with time to review the day’s cases and set up the room before the first patient arrives. You’ll greet patients, complete intakes, and help them feel prepared and informed ahead of their procedure. Throughout the day, you’ll stay closely aligned with the provider’s workflow—tracking key clinical details in the moment, assisting during surgical procedures, keeping the environment orderly between cases, and helping the team stay on pace. As the schedule wraps, you’ll help ensure records are complete and the space is reset for the next day.
