OVERVIEW:

The Warehouse Team Lead assists in assigning work to warehouse personnel,Ā providing on-the-job training and feedback, champions safety awareness andĀ ensures jobs areĀ completed correctly and efficiently.Ā The Team Lead assistsĀ team leads, supervisors and management in identifying better performers andĀ those requiring additional training or correction to the attention of team leads,Ā supervisors and management.Ā

This role assists team leads and supervisors inĀ scheduling, planning and organizing work schedules to ensure jobs are assignedĀ correctly and efficiently, as well as coordinating the unloading of inbound andĀ loading of outbound shipments.Ā The Team Lead reviews, learns and appliesĀ standard operating procedures to assist team leads and supervisors in ensuringĀ inventory controls are maintained, as well as maintaining a safe, efficient, cost-effective and accurate handling of customer products.Ā 

Responsibilities

RESPONSIBILITIESĀ 

Operations Management & ComplianceĀ 

  • Unloading Inbounds, Loading Outbounds and staging in accordance withĀ procedures or coordinate the same.Ā 
  • Insuring Inventory Control and Storage accuracy thru cycle counts and physicalĀ audits.Ā 
  • Providing support to the Shipping and Receiving Clerk and employees on theĀ team.Ā 
  • Performing job functions of an material handler as directed by a senior team lead or supervisor

Safety, Sanitation and SecurityĀ 

  • Providing support to team involving product damage, quality and safety issuesĀ 
  • Performing housekeeping activities, assembling crates to contain products and/or moving loose materials to containers as directed by a team lead or supervisor.Ā 

Process ImprovementĀ 

  • Roles at this level are individual contributors operating as junior specialist withĀ operational or administrative processes, selecting the most appropriate approachĀ (from established options) and reacting to changing priorities /circumstances.Ā 
  • Process specialistĀ 

People ManagementĀ 

  • Planning and organizing work schedules and ensure jobs are assigned correctlyĀ 
  • and efficientlyĀ 
  • Covering the ā€œshiftā€ responsibilities in the absence of a supervisor or seniorĀ team lead
  • Providing hands-on training through demonstration to associates in all assignedĀ tasksĀ 

Qualifications

EXPERIENCEĀ 

General ExperienceĀ 

  • 1-2 Years warehouse or related work experience requiredĀ 

  • 2 Years forklift/material handling skills required and Equipment CertificationĀ  required.Ā 

  • Ability to read and comprehend basic instructions, to interpret documents suchĀ as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedures.Ā 

  • Ability to write legibly and have basic math, computer and data entry skills.Ā 

  • Ability to make decisions on customer acceptance based on past experienceĀ and fitness for useĀ 

  • Ability to communicate in a professional and positive mannerĀ 

  • Ability to lead others to complete work requirements

The hourly wage for this position is $21.00.
