What Could You Do With a Patient's Full Attention—and Yours?
No watching the clock because another patient is waiting.
No splitting your attention across a busy therapy space.
No trying to make someone's real-life challenges fit neatly into a treatment room.
As a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant with Home Health Care, Inc., you'll provide therapy differently:
One patient. One home. One treatment plan.
Then you move on to the next.
Give Patients the Attention Their Recovery Deserves
Home health creates space for focused, individualized treatment.
Working from the supervising Occupational Therapist's plan of care, you'll help patients rebuild the skills they need for everyday life.
That could mean helping someone:
- Dress and groom more independently
- Safely shower or complete bathroom routines
- Improve upper-extremity strength and coordination
- Prepare meals
- Use adaptive equipment
- Conserve energy during daily activities
- Regain fine motor skills
- Develop safer ways to complete everyday tasks
- Rely less on family and caregivers
And because you're treating patients inside their homes, you can immediately see whether the strategies you're teaching actually work.
What You'll Do
- Provide one-on-one Occupational Therapy treatments in patients' homes
- Carry out treatment plans established by the supervising OT
- Address ADLs, functional mobility, coordination, and upper-extremity function
- Provide therapeutic activities and exercises
- Reinforce home exercise programs
- Teach adaptive and compensatory strategies
- Educate patients and caregivers
- Monitor progress and communicate changes to the OT
- Collaborate with nurses, PTs, SLPs, physicians, and interdisciplinary clinicians
- Complete timely clinical documentation
A Different Kind of Therapy Workday
Home health gives you more independence—but also more ownership.
You'll travel between patients, manage a field-based schedule, provide focused treatment, complete your documentation, and keep your day moving.
For an organized and motivated COTA, that independence also comes with strong earning potential.
$82,000–$110,000 per year in annualized earnings through a paid-per-visit compensation model.
Plus mileage reimbursement between patient visits.
