HOUSEKEEPING SPECIALIST

The Housekeeping Specialist is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and sanitary environment at our Simpsonville, SC Youth Psychiatric Residential Treatment Facility.

What You Will Do:

  • Perform daily cleaning and sanitation of resident rooms, common areas, offices, bathrooms, and clinical spaces
  • Sweep, mop, vacuum, dust, and disinfect surfaces in accordance with facility cleaning protocols
  • Ensure all trash respectables are emptied regularly and trash is discarded appropriately
  • Follow established infection control procedures and cleaning schedules
  • Complete all assigned cleaning tasks using designated cleaning checklists and documentation
  • Collect, wash, dry, and distribute linens and laundry as required
  • Ensure proper handling of soiled linens in accordance with infection control standards
  • Safely use and store cleaning chemicals, equipment, and supplies in accordance with OSHA and Safety Data Sheet (SDS) requirements
  • Maintain and ensure accessibility of SDS documentation for all cleaning products
  • Identify and report safety concerns or hazards promptly
  • Monitor and maintain inventory of housekeeping supplies and equipment
  • Notify leadership of supply needs and assist with reordering to ensure adequate stock levels
  • Maintain organization and cleanliness of housekeeping storage areas

What You Will Need

  • High School Diploma or GED preferred
  • Prior housekeeping, janitorial, or environmental services experience
  • Experience in healthcare, residential, or behavioral health settings preferred
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness and safety
  • Ability to follow cleaning protocols and infection control standards
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
  • Reliable, dependable, and able to maintain confidentiality
  • Ability to communicate effectively with staff and leadership
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, lift, and move for extended periods
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 25–50 pounds
  • Ability to operate cleaning equipment and tools
  • Ability to perform repetitive cleaning tasks

Clearance Requirements

  • Successful completion of:Ā Criminal background check (state and federal, as applicable);Ā Drug screening andĀ Health screening/physical (as required)
  • Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record (if operating company vehicles).
