Job Summary

Supports and implements sourcing strategies for specified categories to achieve key organizational and departmental goals. Assists Spend Management team in predicting new product requests from stakeholders by tracking the current market and changing technologies.

Essential Functions

  • Acts as clinical resource who leads supply conversions and works with internal and external stakeholders to develop and support a recall management process and manage new technology product requests, backorders, and substitute products.

  • Performs initial clinical evaluation of substitute products and coordinates with appropriate levels of nursing leadership for validation and approval.

  • Structures and plans effective trials and conversions for products for supplies and services. Manages the clinical trial process to enable the Value Analysis Committee to make effective decisions by providing a clear trial timeline, concise clinical feedback, and appropriate supplier support.

  • Monitors markets to understand changes and product introductions to ensure contract portfolio remains relevant to market conditions and operationalizes strategic sourcing initiatives.

  • Supports cost savings and value maximization to the total cost of ownership of equipment, supplies, and services.

  • Provides support to and coordinates with clinical educators to ensure appropriate adoption and education of new technologies and products.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Supervisory/Management Responsibilities

  • This is a non-management job that will report to a supervisor, manager, director or executive.

Minimum Requirements

  • Education - Bachelor's degree in Nursing

  • Experience - Two (2) years nursing experience

  • Holds a current RN compact/multistate license recognized by the NCSBN Compact State or is licensed to practice as an RN in the state the team member is working.

  • Ability to work with hospital administrative departments, clinicians, and hospital executives to facilitate adoption and standardization of services and products that improve patient safety and care, create operational efficiencies, and implement cost reduction efforts throughout the organization.
