Key Responsibilities

• Room patients and prepare them for evaluation by the clinical provider.
• Perform initial patient intake and accurately document relevant information.
• Obtain and record vital signs.
• Obtain outside imaging reports and other relevant clinical documentation.
• Collect urine specimens in accordance with established clinical protocols.
• Dispense durable medical equipment (DME) and appropriately document distribution.
• Properly measure and fit patients for prescribed braces and other DME.
• Input and prepare clinical templates and patient information within the electronic medical record.
• Assist providers during ultrasound-guided procedures.
• Enter appropriate patient information into ultrasound equipment.
• Assist with the initial setup and preparation of sterile fields while maintaining appropriate infection-control standards.
• Confirm that required patient consent forms have been completed and signed prior to procedures.
• Prepare procedure and OR rooms for scheduled cases.
• Assist physicians and clinical staff with procedural needs throughout cases.
• Work in procedure rooms utilizing fluoroscopy and wear required protective lead equipment.
• Assist with patient positioning, transfers, room turnover, equipment preparation, and other procedural needs.
• Maintain accurate, timely, and detailed documentation.
• Follow all clinical, safety, infection-control, HIPAA, and organizational policies.
• Help maintain clean, organized, properly stocked clinical and procedural areas.
• Communicate effectively with physicians, advanced practice providers, clinical staff, and administrative team members.
• Provide patients with a welcoming, compassionate, and professional experience throughout their visit.
• Perform additional clinical and procedural responsibilities as needed to support safe and efficient patient care.

Successful candidates should demonstrate excellent time management and organizational skills; strong attention to detail; accurate and timely documentation; the ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment; comfort working directly with patients and assisting with medical procedures; strong interpersonal and communication skills; reliability and accountability; and a willingness to learn and grow within the organization.

Candidates must also be comfortable wearing lead protective equipment while working around fluoroscopy and be physically capable of assisting with patient positioning and transfers. The position may require lifting or assisting with loads up to 150 lbs., with appropriate assistance and/or equipment when required.

Experience as a Medical Assistant, OR Technician, Surgical Technician, or in an interventional/procedural medical setting is preferred. Experience in pain management, orthopedics, spine care, or another procedure-based specialty is a plus.
